brother wel mel 2 i cannot understand what u said!
on one hand u say allah's message was sent to every nation..then u say their SCRIPTURES say there is one God
pardon me...but Hindus have more than 240 thousand Gods/Goddesses..and as much i respect their religion/culture...as i do to everyone..i cannot see they worshipping ONE God :o
I think we should look at what is for SURE..rather than what CAN be...lol
Thanks for your comments sister,
What I meant to say is that you cannot understand what Hindus really believe unless you verify their scriptures. I do agree that <b>'a common Hindu' </b> may worship multiple gods and goddesses, but a learned Hindu will always declare that God is only One God. Although he might have a problem about the concept of this God which is our duty as Muslims to correct it, but at least he admits that God is only One.
This message can be found in several places in the Hindu scriptures, like for example:
"He is One only without a second." [Chandogya Upanishad 6:2:1]
"Of Him there are neither parents nor lord." [svetasvatara Upanishad 6:9]
"There is no likeness of Him." [svetasvatara Upanishad 4:19]
And there are many other verses states that God is only ONE.
To make the story short, what I meant was that the basic of what we call it today Hinduism was <b>pure monotheism </b> but later on was corrupted by men, however, until today there are some portions of these scriptures that totally agree with Islam. but the majority of Hindus do not practice what was written.
Hope this was clear insah"Allah
Salam
