From the Prophet's Prayer Described (online abridged version)
by Muhammad Naasirud-deen al-Albaanee
HUMILITY AND ATTENTIVENESS (al-Khushoo’) AND
LOOKING AT THE PLACE OF PROSTRATION
(41) He must have humility and attentiveness in his Prayer, and
should avoid everything that may divert his attention, whether it
be designs or decoration. Nor should he pray when food that he
desires has been served, nor whilst he is having to withhold urine
or faeces.
(42) Whilst standing he should look towards the place of his
prostration.
(43) He should not turn to the right or the left, since his turning
aside will be something that Satan snatches away and steals from
the person's Prayer.
(44) It is not allowed for him to raise his sight to the sky.
Sahih Bukhari
Volume 1, Book 12, Number 717:

The Prophet said, "What is wrong with those people who look towards the sky during the prayer?" His talk grew stern while delivering this speech and he said, "They should stop (looking towards the sky during the prayer); otherwise their eye-sight would be taken away."
Volume 1, Book 12, Number 718:
Narrated 'Aisha:
I asked Allah's Apostle about looking hither and thither in prayer. He replied, "It is a way of stealing by which Satan takes away (a portion) from the prayer of a person."
During my search I came upon some ahadith that Insha'Allah will help us slow down in our prayers and not do the rocking motion with little pause that many of us have between the two prostrations
Volume 1, Book 12, Number 758:
