Quote:Bismillah
They ask thee concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit." They ask thee how much they are to spend; Say: "What is beyond your needs." Thus doth Allah Make clear to you His Signs: In order that ye may consider (2:219).
O ye who believe! Intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination by) arrows, are an abomination,- of Satan's handwork: eschew such (abomination), that ye may prosper.
Satan's plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will ye not then abstain? (5:90-91)
Quote:Satan's plan is (but) to excite enmity and hatred between you, with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah, and from prayer: will ye not then abstain? (5:90-91)
Now this is important to grasp. It is Satan's plan to cause conflict and hatred between us but it Is the Plan of Allah for us to be Compassionate, Merciful, full of prayer and rememberence of Him. It is this enmity and hatred we must abstain from.
For if we should abstain from intoxicants and gambling and still have enmity and hatred between us then we have misunderstood. There is wine in paradise but in paradise you will not find enmity and hatred. Emnity and Hatred are the filthy works of Satan.
But if these intoxicants and gambling cause you to forget Allah and embrace evil then it would be better to abstain. In-fact it would be better to abstain from doing anything that conflicts with the rememberence of Allah.
Take what is profitable and leave the sin.
