Bismillah
As Salam alaikum
I thought this reminder would benefit us all in a time when muslims congregate more. Why are muslims at taraweeh? they serve tea and cookies at my old masjid. Socializing? Little children running around playing hide and seek. People taking "breaks" from praying to chat.
Was "Bismillah" ever uttered before other muslims were around during Iftar? Why go to 'Eid prayer if one never goes to the masjid?
Is the Qur'an being read in its entirety just so an affirmative answer can be given about if we read it during Ramadan?
This horrible lesser shirk can be like spagetti sauce. No matter how careful I think I am being I will usually end up with some on my shirt. I start off very vigilant and careful but the become lax in my care. Suddenly while I am not paying attention bc I have been "doing so well," SPLAT!
This lesser shirk can be like this for me. "Oh, my intentions are good. I am making sure that I am doing it all for Allah. My intentions will never be for other than Allah. Did that sister notice my beard?"
Astaghfirullah.
As Salam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu
