Salaam
Ah oothu billahi minash shaytan ir rajeem. May Allah forgive my ignorance if my words are incorrect or cause offense.
As an American for all of my life, and a Muslim for the last eight years, it makes me weep to read about the atrocities that are being committed by this man who calls himself the President of the United States.
What I hope most is that Muslims all over the world will understand that America has mistakenly elected a leader who cloaked himself in lies and deceit. As much as he fooled the world, he fooled the citizens of this country. We are not evil, he and his cohorts are, and in just under two years we will evict him and those like him from our government. Please be patient with us.
Our media here, influenced by the Bush regime, love to put pictures of Muslims protesting, threatening, and promising death, all over our television screens. They want to portray Islam as a cult of madmen. While we have all read the stories of the Taliban and the acts of the dictator Hussein, we also know that the American government has helped to create the feelings of threat and mistrust that the Islamic world lives under today. The Islamic world is better than that. The Islamic world is older and wiser than some who would lead it into chaos and murder. Islam is strong and faithful, not lead by terrorists. All over the world, we need to stand up for the truth of our faith. We must be united in moderation and patience. America will change.
Yes, there are atrocities, but we as Americans are working to end them. Insha’Allah, you will all be patient with us. Insha’Allah we will have the courage to change the horrible direction that America is going. Insha’Allah we as Muslims will work together everywhere to bring the truths of Islam forward, making liars out of those who would say we are all savages. Our Prophet (pbuh) did not murder those who disagreed with him; he rose above them. It is my prayer that we now can do the same.
Hasbuk’Allah
Allahu Akbar
