Magic..Witch-craft..seems fascinating. Is there any fictional work on this, Islamically speaking? Like from an author who has an Islamic background?
as salam alykom brother kal,
This area is prohibited for us Muslims to approach, we are commanded to learn how to protect ourselves against it, using what Allah Gave us in Quran and the sunnah.
I understand how can you be fascinated with it, many people get involved out of this feeling. Pls brother dont approach it. I m talking to you out of deep concern. Some people get deceived thinking that this is power and extra skills that one seeks to possess. It is nothing but Shaytan is pulling children of Adam towards shirk. As naseeah confirmed, this problem is quiet pravlent on all strata of the society. Even among some of the devoted Muslims, although they know that seeking help from other than Allah is shirk, they still become infatuated with the idea of having what they think of a Muslim jinn to help them around.
Like do you remember this TV series I love Jenni,, they think that having this Muslim jinn who might tell them who is knocking the door, or who is coming to visit in an hour or ...puts them in a higher position. some even decieve people and let them be convinced that they are Wali (do u know this word). Whereas it is nothing but the work of shyatan.
Thus, since witchcraft is nothing but human beings seeking help of shaytans to do things (that seems miraculous), is a major sin and shirk. We must stay away, we must not be fascinated or tempted to step in.
What you need to learn is to how protect yourself and may Allah protect us and u, if you are inflicted, how to treat yourself.
And in this point in particular, I like to stress that treating oneself is easy and you dont need to approach others for it. Regardless of their devoted appearence. I mean in some cases people may appear devoted to Islam and follow only Islamic teachings whereas they mix it with other Shirkish rituals just exactly as Allah say:
"And (there are) others who have acknowledged their sins, they have mixed a deed that was righteous with another that was evil. Perhaps Allah will turn unto them in forgiveness. Surely, Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful." (Quran 9:102)
To you they seem following nothing but Quran and Sunnah, but then without you noticing they just mix up with other things. They might not be even aware that what they are doing is Haram. In some cases, they just inherit such rituals from others and take it as granted and as a gift from Allah.
So in case anyone is inflicted u just need to follow the simple steps yourself and Allah Shall Assist much.
