St John of Damascus on Islam
#9

Bismillah

salam all

Well I was about to echo Dan's and Radiyah's questioning of posting, however, to your surprise CC just as Jennifer said, there is nothing interesting nor new in the article.

Do u want to know what did the earlier Nasara
(even before this so called saint) said about the Messenger prayer and peace be upon him and what happened with them? Note: pls take note CC that I will be always Insh aAllah using the term Nasara to replace Christians since this term was never mentioned in Quran and thus is a misesxpression.

Ok read this:

"Then whoever disputes with you concerning him

after knowledge that has come to you,

Say: "Come, let us call our sons and your sons,

our women and your women,

ourselves and yourselves

- then we pray and invoke

the Curse of Allah upon those who lie."

(Quran 3:61)

The reasons behind revealing this noble Ayah, was when a delegation of Nasara
monks from a city called Najran close to Yemen came to meet the Messenger prayer and peace be upon him in Medina in order to discuss with him how come he calls Eassa (Jesus) a Prophet and Messenger. They were offended by this, they asked to meet him, he did meet them, and explained what Islam has on Eassa, they disputed with him. Then he told them exactly as the Ayah say, he proposed that they gather next day in an open area each party with their women and children and invoke upon Allah to curse the lying party.

Do you know CC what was their reaction? they were wise enough, at the night to the meeting, their leader explained that in case this man was a real Messenger, they will be in great trouble.

Thus, they prefered to be in the safe side and not engage into this test. Next morning, they gave their reply as withdrawing from the confrontation, they will pay the Jizziyah and live among the Muslims, yet practice their own religion.

What i wanted to stress as my brother and sisters said, nothing new in this article. The same old things will continue to be said against the Messenger MOhamed prayer and peace be upon him for a reason or another.

Alhamdulelah for being a Muslim :)
