Read the Bible for "Guidance and Light"?
#8

Those books didn't make into the Cannon of scripture. I believe the Holy Spirit reveals which books are cannon and which aren't. There were many false books and teachings coming from Gnostics and alike.

The authorship of the Saint Peter's apocalypse was questioned and eventually denied. Peter, we see in the Book of Acts, was witness to the resurrected Christ and a believer in his divinity.

The four Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are all accepted as Cannon in every Christian denomination. They all confirm that Christ was crucified and resurrected. That is not only a fact of the Gospels but that is a fact of history. It wouldn't be hard to know that a "gospel" which denies Christ's death wasn't cannonical.

In a previous post I read that there are hadeeths which Muslims question to be authentic or "cannonical" in their own right. It's no different for Christianity.
