Bismillah
Let me explain everyone where exactly this last pic Faris posted is located and indicate another very interesting item.
Can u all see the black container behind the woman walking to the right hand side? This is a premitive cart with a locally made oven (yes oven) lit with small wooden or other similar items.
U know what is being baked there? sweet potatoes. And believe me the way they are baked is incomparable. Really.
This kind of carts are spread all around the city, usually more centered in front of schools to cater for children when coming out.
The site is one of Cairo's monumental sites (as far as I can guess). It is one of the back allys of Azhar district. This is a very popular touristic attraction. To tell you about it, i need Faris to bring in a whole photo album.
Briefly, it contains historical masjeds, Azhar masjed, small allys that sell traditional handicrafts and artisan work, u can actually see artisans' sitting and working, you can eat traditional food such as kabab and kufta, fatah, and more. Well If Ahmed would like to explain to you what fatah is or else I will in my next post.
O I think this thread is turning into Egypt's promotion brochure.... :) I m ready to meet everyone here Insh a Allah and may be host an islammessage reunion.
