Welocme brother to the board, what u said is correct as it was told to us by our azhaete scholar, but still one must not leave The Holy Quran and keep on listening to anasheeds or music more than The Holy book. Music is a trivial matter that we should not bother ourselves much about, Our Umma has much more higher priorities than thinking about music being halal or haram. please do not consider this as an offence brother, but truly we need to awaken and look to what is more important to the rise of our Islamic Umma, by the Will of Allah(SWT) :)
