Qeustions About Muhammad
#34

Bismillah

as salam alykom

Building on the two incidents presented above on post #26 of the battles of Bani Quraiza and Mustaleq, we will see how the Messenger salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam sat an example for other muslims to follow. He was sure that as soon as he is going to free this slave woman which he took for himself, not because he wanted to but rather to set this example on purpose, they will just follow. looking at other situations you will realize that he didnt do this haphazourdly.

For instance, when the Muslim group went on the first attempt to perform Umrah and were denied access to Mecca by the pagans on the border of Mecca. They had already performed the status of Ehram. The Messenger salla Allah a`lyehee wa sallam accepted their condition of not going to Kaba this year and that the Muslims will be granted access the next year. The Muslims objected to the Messenger's approval of this deal. They refused to take off their Ehram. Mohamed prayer and peace be upon his went into his tent and consulted Umm Salama his wife who advices him to go out in front of all of them, cut his hair and slaughter his camel in an indication of releasing his Ehram. He did this and you know what happened? all of them immediately followed.

Taking this incident in consideration you will realize how Mohamed prayer and peace be upon him handled situations. In most of the time, he didnt directly word out the instructions, but rather just carry out the act and they follow.

Ok, if this man was a pro slavery as some like to indicate thru him taking those two Jewish female war captives to himself, how about Maria?

Maria was already a slave, enslaved not by him of course, she was owned to the head of state of Egypt. This head of state sent her as a gift to Mohamed salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam along with other stuff. But Mohamed instead of keeping her as a slave, which of course he could have, he freed her, and married her. He could have even marry her while she is a slave. But to set an example to other Muslims and encourage them to free slaves as much as possible according to Quran, he freed and married her. She even became the mother of his child, sobhan Allah, what an honor.

I don’t think I need to comment here and explain that such attitude can never be wrongly twisted into a slavery pro man?

Insh a Allah we are going to continue on this thread whether or not Seraphim is here, I wonder, did he go away with Universist and Johndoe? I m surprised. hope he is fine any way.
