Bismillah
As Salam alaikum
Take note also of what possesions the Prophet died with. He had a piece of land that he gave in charity. His armor was mortgaged, so he could buy his family food. There was something else... anyone?
Basically, yes he got 1/5. Rather he was put in charge of 1/5. He rarely kept anything for himself. People would crowd around him because they knew of his generousity. One time he was crowded so much and people were taking, taking, taking that his mantle was taken. He told the crowd that he was happy to give the stuff away but could he please have part of his clothes back.
As he was distributing, a beudowin came to the Prophet and kept pulling at his clothes to the point where Muhammad, saws, was redfaced from the tension created around his neck. Finally, he asked the beudowin what he wanted. "Give me something of what you have?" he replied. "Why should I do that?" asked the Prophet considering the man was just choking him. The man of the desert said, "Because I heard that you are not one to hold grudges when you are wronged." The Prophet smiled and gave him something.
This beudowin purposefully hurt the Prophet to get some material good, admitted doing it, and the Prophet still gave generously.
The Prophet also said that if he had a pile of gold the size of mount Uhud, not one day would pass before it would be all spent for the sake of Allah.
After the thuhr prayer, the Prophet immediately got up and went to his house, then came back. The companions asked what was going on. He said that he had a piece of gold in his house and thought about it during prayer so he gave it away.
To me these are not the actions of a greedy man.
The examples go on. If you want to know more read "The life of Muhammad" by Haykal.
