No, the campanions of the Prophet would have killed in the name of Allah, not Muhammad.


You brought up some muslim history on another thread so you probably already know about what muslims went through BEFORE any killing was permitted.


I mean, when those spouting anti-american slogans claiming that we don't belong in Iraq etc... is not the american reply, "They did it first?" "We are protecting ourselves and our way of life."


If you do not know about the history then, a good book to read that I read when I first looked into Islam was Haykal's "The Life of Muhammad." It has been in most regular bookstores that I have frequented. If you are interested, it is a pretty good resource for nonmuslims. Be warned... it is thick.
