Quote:so she was just like Muhammed? i mean what would muhammed's people would have been?
Muhamad's people were worshipping idols, but that does not mean that there were a few who were like Khadeeja and Warqa, in fact there were many in the arabic peninsuila that were on monthothism beleif of our father Ibraheem(saw). In fact the people of Mekkah knew there was one Creator, but they took the idols as companions to make them near to Allah(SWT)
Bismillah
And if you ask them who created them, they will surely say: "Allâh". How then are they turned away (from the worship of Allâh, Who created them)?
(Az-Zukhruf 43:87)
If you were to ask them: "Who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon?" They will surely reply: "Allâh." How then are they deviating (as polytheists and disbelievers)?
(Al-'Ankabut 29:61)
And most of the idols that were on top of The Holy Ka'aba was not theirs, it was for other arabic tribes from around the peninsuila, and that was for trading interests and beneifits, and when Prophet Muhammad(SAW) came with monothism and worshipping one creator, they knew that this meant that those idols must be broken and they will lose their interests and power and they will not beneifit from the trades and willl lose their power over the arab tribes, so they preferrred thier own interests over the truth and refused monothism. That was how The Meccan's were at the Prophet's time.
If still u find things are not clear for u do not hesitate to ask we will insha'Allah answer if we know.
if I am correct from Allah(SWT) if I am wrong from shaytan and myself.
Peace
