Let us revive deserted worships
#20

Bismillah

as salam alykom brothers and sisters

How many of you do read the quran in full every month?

Unfortunately it is a deserted worship although it is a very important one.

Usually most people do read it in full during the month of Ramadan doing one Juzu/day.

Before getting into the importance and reward of this worship, to make it easy and be able to start inserting reading Quran into your daily schedule. I have a suggestion. If u have a Quran copy that places the Juzu into 20 pages like most copies are now. U may simply read only 4 pages, just 4 pages after each prayer. Who does not have 10 minutes after each prayer. Even if you are at work. No one works all the time, u do get up to use the toillet, get coffee, talk to a co worker....etc. Just allocate 10 minutes after each prayer for this. Sobhan Allah, by this u will be able to develop the habit of reading a Juzu/ day.

You will do a complete read by the end of the month and feel sooo different.

Trying to identify Ayahs that encourage reading Quran will take like a full forum. Therefore, Insh a Allah I will just post one or two coupled with also 2 hadeeth or more.

<b>"And when you (Muhammad) recite the Qur'an, We put between you and those who believe not in the Hereafter, an invisible veil (or screen their hearts, so they hear or understand it not)." (Quran 17:45)
</b>

"And the Messenger (Muhammad) will say: "O my Lord! Verily, my people deserted this Qur'an (neither listened to it, nor acted on its laws and orders)." (Quran 25:30)

We seek refuge to Allah from being among those who desert Quran.

As for hadeeth look at this one:

<b>Narrated under the authority of Ibn Mas`oud that the Messenger of Allah salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam said: One who reads one letter from the book of Allah shall receive a hasana (reward) and a hasana equals ten folds. I do not say alef lam meem is a letter, but rather alef is a letter, lam is a letter and meem is a letter" (Reported by Termidhi)
</b>

<b>Narrated under the authority of Abi Horaira said: The house expands to accomodate its residence, angles come into the house, devils deserts it, and its good becomes abudance just because Quran is recited in the house. While the house becomes tight on its residence, angles deserte it, devils reside into it and its good decreases when Quran is not recited in it" (reported by Sunnan Daramy)
</b>

<b>Narrated under the authority of Abi Mousa Al Ash`ari that the Messenger salla Allah a`lyhee wa sallam said: The example of the believer who reads (recits) the Quran is like the Utruja (a kind of fruit which was not exaclty identified but the closest to the description would be CITRON APAM’S Apple) which is characteristic of delicious taste and nice odor. While the example of the believer who does not read the Quran is like the date which tastes good but has no odor. The example of the evil doer, sinners, wicked (fajer) who reads the Quran is like the basil which has good scent but of a bitter taste while the fajer who does not read the Quran is like the colocynth which is of a bitter taste with no odor" (reported by Ahmed)
</b>

Make up your minds brothers and sisters and see which category you want to fit in.
