What happens if you leave islam ?

Now the Koran, please, dont take this as an offense, my muslim brothers and sisters, although the book itself is extremley intersting, i can't get the thought out of my head that it was simply created my Mohammed to solidify his kingdom i mean, if people think you are a prophet, surely they will join you. And that he was illterate, there was no number system back then so he had to have known the letters in the alaphbet if he was a merchant. And that you have to pray towards mecca, that is some sort of worship.
