A decisive moment
#2

Wa 'alaikumus-salaam

You don't need to apologise for carrying out a command of the Prophet (sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam): "Remember often the destrpyer of pleasures..." - DEATH.

Jazaakillaahu khairan ukhtee.

Here's something I wrote earlier this year:

Death

(January 15, 2005)

Yes, it's the unavoidable event, yet most of us think we are able to avoid it. It is the event that shall occur without prior warning, the event that shall take us all when we least expect it. It is the event that shall finalise our fate and confirm our one-way ticket back to our Creator. It is the event... that many of us fear most.

Why?

Is it because you're not 'ready'?

Is it because you'll miss your friends and family?

Is it because you don't want to meet your Lord?

Or is it.. because you don't wnat to think about that day.. that Day that you'll be informed of that which you used to do.

Just think...

The next time you go to buy some fancy clothes for that upcoming party, think about that white cloth. That white cloth that you'll be shrouded in when you die.

Just think...

The next time you wanna decorate your home, or move to a 'bigger place', think about that tiny little hole you'll be placed in. That hole which neither you wealth shall follow or benefit you. Will it become spacious for you, or will it be restricted and rib-crushing?

Just think...

That breath that you just drew in may be your last. Then what? What have you got to show for the time you've spent living in this world? What have you got to show for it?

Just think...

... Now act ...
