A mischievous girl gets back her iman
#1

written by Sammi [/color:3daf98c1b9] & translated by Lizhong

Mischief’s (indicating the author herself—noted by translator) family is a traditional Muslim one. Grandpa didn’t practice religion well until he made a hajj to Mecca (Before grandpa found back his iman, he was heavy in smoking and drinking. Later, he started to get to Islam, made up his mind to give up all bad habits such as smoking and drinking, prayed five times a day. Thank Allah, his conditions, such as hyperosteogeny, tracheitis etc., have completely turned better after returning from Mecca. Now, He is as healthy as a newborn and in perfect condition.). Besides, he led the whole family into the path of Islam, and got into the circle of Muslims. Mischief was the only exception. Maybe Mischief was so young, with a little rebellious mentality…Even the family took great pans to reason Mischief, Mischief got nothing but one: “I am a Muslim who should reject pork”; as for others, Mischief just turned a deaf ear. Even Mischief went to an Arabic school to learn Islam in Henan Province to answer my family’s expectations Mischief was so reluctant. As for the three months’ life with hajib on there, it was something like ordeal for Mischief (May Allah forgive Mischief)—Maybe Mischief use strong wording, but things were just like that. If it was not because the pressure from the family and something happened, Mischief would take the entrance exanimation for college and went to some university in home China as others rather then going there to learn Islam specially…after coming back home Chengdu, Mischief lead a life without iman as before.

Mischief hadn’t truly got to Islam until studied abroad…coming a strange country, Mischief had got no friends and no relatives there, further more Mischief couldn’t communicate because of language barrier. Before going to Malaysia, Mischief only knew it is an Islamic country, Mischief’s family also had supposed that Muslim food was easy available there (the author, Mischief, studied business administration in Malaysia, not religion—noted by translator) . For this reason, Mischief was sent to Malaysia slap-happy, going abroad with no more English than ABC (although Mischief had been learning English all along, Mischief didn’t studied carefully and liberal arts were hard for Mischief).

At the beginning, Mischief couldn’t follow what teachers taught, and was not worried. So Mischief developed a habit of “the teachers taught while Mischief slept in class”. Another problem was where to dine after class. The others in the class got along together except Mischief, only a boy who flied to Malaysia on board same plane with Mischief kept Mischief’s company. Both of us were poor in English, we went to KFC for food because there was no need much order there and a menu was placed at cash desk. If only you could understand the pictures, you just pointed out what you wanted then you could have it. But, having meals everyday like that, Mischief was sick of chicken…(even now, Mischief think it pretty awful when recall it)

It was not a short time that Mischief got along with the classmates and made acquaintance with a lot of students from China, with whom Mischief often went to parties, Pub, KTV and disco…they always helped Mischief with all kinds of things, especially looking for accommodation (the former landlord was a Chinese, who had a lot of rules and was very troublesome. How could he stand a girl like Mischief? So that for Mischief living there was not happy.)… Finally, Mischief got a satisfactory one. The landlord was pretty nice. Mischief managed him happy and coaxed him into applying for telephone line for Mischief, by which Mischief could get on line and keep in touch with my family in China…

When in home China, Mischief developed a habit to get on line to read news, to chat on chat-rooms…seldom Mischief visited Islamic websites, except logged in “China Islam on Line (www.islamcn.net)” occasionally. Mischief remembered there was once a time Mischief quarreled with somebody there because of Mischief’s mischief and later feeling it was overly solemn and bored there so that Mischief didn’t visit it again…Quite by accident Mischief came to a Islamic BBS named “Bridge” (www.salamacn.net) and registered a user as “Mischief” out of habit, never went other forums except posted a lot on one of its boards “Fairyland of life”. So amusing to mix with them… in this way, Mischief’s life in Malaysia became rich and gradually Mischief got used to not going out for Pub, KTV, disco and spent time on “Bridge” after the homework was done.

At that time, Mischief hadn’t got to iman, only made fun. Day by day, Mischief made good relations with some old brothers and sisters there from whom Mischief enjoyed a sincerity of Muslim, discovered a serene sky in the complicated society, how pure it was. It was the circle of Muslim…there were no suspicions but care and concern. When they got to know poor Mischief (because Mischief couldn’t cook and always took instant noodles as meals—this was the most awful experience of Mischief) was abroad lonely, they all came to comfort and soothe Mischief. All these made Mischief felt at home when on “Bridge”, got a feeling of a special home. From then on, Mischief always had been missing the family of “Bridge”. After reading all postings on “Fairyland of life”, Mischief was reluctant to leave, so wandered everywhere, went to “Bridge Forum” and other Islamic BBS…read a lot of Islamic postings…from which Mischief comprehended something, after all Mischief was not a child no longer and full of passion to learn…to use Mischief’s own brains to think over whether to accept or not, to take in something valuable…Mischief was taught a little Islamic knowledge by Mischief’s family before and knew a little about Islam…such as having a good meal in mosque on some religious activities (May uncles and aunts don’t spank Mischief as Mischief said so)….and the food was so wonderful in Ramadan…..Mischief only knew these…gradually, from the innermost heart the iman budded( thanks to Allah, He opened Mischief’s eyes)…forwardly Mischief learned something Islamic, asked others if didn’t understand, and liked to chat on Islam with others…in Malaysia, Mischief also made acquaintance with Muslims from other countries, whom used simply English to communicate ideas on Islam with Mischief. Mischief didn’t discover how nice it was to have iman until then…

When Mischief returned home China at the first time, who welcomed Mischief were some Muslim friends. All together we talked about religion. The more they talked, the more Mischief got interested. In order to share more common interest with them, Mischief started to read some Islamic books to enhance Mischief’s knowledge about religion and further got into the circle of true Muslims. (Here, Mischief must express the gratitude to an older Muslim brother in Beijing. It was he, by whom Mischief stepped into a warm and sweet family of true Muslim, and it was he whom made Mischief understood what a Muslimah should do, it was he whom guided Mischief into the right path of Islam…May Allah bless you and your family. Mischief would do duwa for you all…Mischief know he doesn’t get on line so that expresses the gratitude for him here)

Every time Mischief returned home China by way of different cities, meeting many Muslim brothers and sisters whom Mischief had got to knew through Internet. No matter in Beijing, Zhenzhou, Kunming or Guangzhou, Mischief got the feeling of “All Muslims are a family”…. Mischief now have graduated from abroad Malaysia and work home, Insha’ Aallah, Mischief is going to travel around China and visit various Muslim communities after earning some money, to develop religion through internet as well.

Talking so much nonsense, Mischief would like to summarize in a word, that is Mischief’s iman is found back from Internet, this is why Mischief never left “Bridge” as some people do, never…and hang on to it…never think of leaving, because Mischief wandered about at the gate of Islam long before getting into the right path, and Mischief hope other brothers and sisters can find back their own iman soon…Insha’Allah…

Islam is the religion for all human beings…

Maybe Mischief wrote a lot of nonsense, but it is Mischief whom plucked great nerve to write, uncles and aunts, old brothers and sisters don’t laugh at Mischief…nonsense as it may be, it is from the innermost heart of Mischief, Mischief write everything what is remembered, not a single word is phony.

Here, Mischief would like greet everyone with “al-salaam Alaykum”… may Allah bless us all. Insha’Allah.
