i echo what Umm said with only a slight correction, the sould does not follow to the grave but rather our deeds, the soul is transferred to a waiting area titles as Barzach which is a time waiting area not known to us but only to Allah.


Yes the dead feels the tourments of grave in a way also not known to us.
