If the purpose of this ayah was not to talk about Christians and Jews of earlier times, then who is it about? Because no such "true believer" (i.e., Christian or Jew) could possibly have existed at Muhammad's time since the original revelations were gone. Soooo.... do you understand my confusion on this?
I mean, basically, since about 20 years after Jesus, it was impossible for there to be a real Christian anymore considering that Islam believes that the REAL Gospel and truth about Jesus was lost so early on.
So, who is this verse referring to?
