Quote: To my knowledge Christian women are not allowed to marry other than Christian men, so what is the problem? Can't the Christian woman say 'no thank you' to the proposal made by a Muslim man?
I have to agree with you on this one. Christians (men and women) are supposed to only marry other Christians.
Sadly, people either do not study their faith or are not taught their faith properly and thus either ignore this verse OR, as I've found to be more common, they simply re-interpret that passage in their own way so as to excuse their behavior.
I try to tell these ladies who claim to be "in love" with their Muslim boyfriends that:
1) They're violating their own faith if they marry him and
2) This "wonderfully, religious" man is not following his own faith properly if he's involved in dating of any kind.
So, in essence, you've got 2 people who are violating their respective faiths talking about how in love they are and commending their intended spouse for their religious ways.
LOOL!
This is very foolish on both their parts and thye are setting themselves up for a lifetime of heartache, because I have yet to see any reconcilation whatsoever in terms of a Christian, Jew or Muslim marrying someone not of their own faith.
Quote: Yes that could be true, but then you forget that Islam gives everyone the freedom to practise that belief,
Except in the case of marriage. In that case, a woman will NOT have the right to practice what she believes, right?
