One more thing I just thought of:
It must be wrong for Muslim men of today to marry any Jewish or Christian woman.
According to Muslims today, this verse in the Quran:
Quote:Lo! Those who believe (in that which is revealed unto thee, Muhammad), and those who are Jews, and Christians, and Sabaeans - whoever believeth in Allah and the Last Day and doeth right - surely their reward is with their Lord, and there shall no fear come upon them neither shall they grieve.
applies only to Jews and Christians up to Muhammad's time. Most Muslims today say that there is no true Torah or Gospel, etc. Therefore, it is impossible for a woman to truly be part of the "People of the Book" since the "Book" <i>according to Muslims</i> no longer exists.
So, then, Muslim men should only be able to marry Muslim women, right? Since, technically, there is no such thing as a "true" Jew or Christian today.
Why, then, are Muslim men still permitted to do this?
On the one hand, our religion and faith are totally invalidated and we are told we are following corrupt teachings.
On the other hand, we still fit into the Quran's description of "The People of the Book", allowing Muslim men a larger "pool" of women to choose from with respect to marriage.
What's the deal, here?
