Islam's Claim On Spain

I never knew this.  Can you give me the names of sources so I use the information in research papers, please?  This is more than I knew.

Well you can refreshen your memory by reading my last year response.

My understanding was that he acknowledged the Muslims navigational methods and taught it (principally the use of the quadrant,) to other officers in his expedition.  If I'm in error please correct me; I need to get the facts sorted out if my previous learning was wrong.

Where is your proof?

....I didn't want to say "Moors" as a Spanish muslim once told me it is a derogatory term, and I meant to distinguish from the muslim Turks.

But why? Jews always like to be called Israeli Jews, Spanish Jews, even American Jews!

Any bibliography or links on these subjects I can use in my study are gratefully appreciated, Rehmat.  Thank you!

BTW - I just realized that I posted this under wrong title. You know some of Muslim websites are closed for Idd - Therefore, a lot of "traffic" has joined-in as new poster since yesterday.
