Islam's Claim On Spain

Indeed true.

<b>His had in his posession the European world map, which showed the World "Flat". One of his navigator was a Spanish Muslim, who carried a 8th century Islamic World Map (it still can be seen in Vatican Museum) showing the World as ROUND. </b>

I never knew this. Can you give me the names of sources so I use the information in research papers, please? This is more than I knew.

<b>But Columbus being a western bigot, refused to use Muslims' advance technology and ended up "Accidently" in the "New World"</b>

My understanding was that he acknowledged the Muslims navigational methods and taught it (principally the use of the quadrant,) to other officers in his expedition. If I'm in error please correct me; I need to get the facts sorted out if my previous learning was wrong.

<b>The "Muslim Arabs" did have monopoly over Islamic scientific advancement - it was the result of a "combined effort" by Muslim, Jews, and Christian scholars.</b>

Thank you for the clarification, I do appreciate it. If I erred or offended in the use of the term, "muslim Arabs," I apologize. I didn't want to say "Moors" as a Spanish muslim once told me it is a derogatory term, and I meant to distinguish from the muslim Turks.

Any bibliography or links on these subjects I can use in my study are gratefully appreciated, Rehmat. Thank you!
