While I am in no way defending the book (I've only read bits & pieces of it myself), I think it was the author's intention to handle the challenge Muslims claim is given by the Quran but unable to be met - namely, producing a book like the Quran.
To me, and for most Christians, it is a meaningless challenge because if we truly saw something of awe or beauty or truth in the Quran, we'd probably be Muslims. To Christians such as myself, there is nothing miraculous about the Quran, per se, to try to match. But anyway, I guess Anis thought he'd give it a shot. I don't necessarily think it's a good tactic either.
However....
Quote:And this so called Quran opposes many Islamic beliefs. in one of its ayats it describes having more than one wife as fornication,
Not a bad idea...
Quote:divorce being non-permissable
Well, even Jesus said that a couple should only get divorced for the cause of sexual immorality. Divorce for any other reason is considered adultery according to the Prophet Isa, as Muslims call Him.
So, Islam does not agree with Jesus on this?
Quote: It states that Jihad is HARAAM.
Also not a bad idea. Perhaps it would stop people from just declaring jihad simply because they don't agree with another group of people or country, which seems to be the case today.
