Adultery – In Biblical And Islamic Terms
#72

Now I am personally offended that you think I made an attack on you just because I'm "not happy" with what you said about u.s. soldiers. I am not upset with you about that. We disagree, sure, but to each his own.

The reason I found your post to johndoe more offensive than his posts is because you are displaying blatant hatred and arrogance. This is such a bad example of Islam. You have every right to defend your faith, but arrogance and hatred are not the ways to do it.

You have taken some of his quotes out of context, and you have misinterpreted others. Your tone is offensive because coming from a muslim, I do not want to hear a tone of hatred and contempt. Further, we should not continue to bring up the past to put someone down. The best thing for a muslim is to endure with patience. This is an Islamic board and you are acting worse than johndoe in your attack on him.

And by the way, I am not even upset with you about this post, nor do I think anything bad of you. I am simply expressing my dislike of content of your post, and requesting that you refrain from using such an attitude in the future.

In Islam, it is our duty to oppose that which is wrong, changing it with our actions, or with our words, or with our thoughts... and that is the least of religion. I did the most I could, I expressed my disapproval. Now it is up to you to make your choice.

Anyabwile, you contribute a lot to this forum, and your viewpoint is valuable, especially to me because I know many christians who have converted, but I have never met or heard from an agnostic who converted. So I enjoy hearing about the conviction you have for Islam, mashaAllah, it is so beautiful.

I can tolerate offensive words from johndoe, because he is not a muslim and he is not the only person in the world who dislikes islam. I hear and read a lot of negative views about islam, and although I don't like to hear it, I bear it with patience, because Allah guides who he will, and in what way he will. We don't know if johndoe is guided or not. Allaho alim.

However, I find it much harder to tolerate this type of hatred and aggressive attitude from a fellow muslim. Your post only added to the negative atmosphere that exists in areas of this board. As muslims we should strive to promote a peaceful atmosphere. And I hope I can expect this from my dear brothers and sisters on this board.

I do hope you understand my viewpoint on this. If you wish to avoid my posts that is up to you, if that will be easier for you. For me, as I said, you are my dear brother in Islam and I value your strong faith. I hope to hear more beautiful words from you in the future inshaAllah.
