Quote:I keep hearing in my mind..... "He who is without sin, cast the first stone". Jesus says this in the Bible, yes I know, we follow Quran, but we respect Jesus as a prophet as well. I just keep hearing that in the back of my head when I think of stoning.
You are actually not far off the mark with this shaunee, although as muslima confirmed that we are not concerned with following 'eisa's alaihi salam teachings because we have the Qur'an, but the message is about the same as can be found from mohammed saws.
and that is of forgiveness
there is a hadith and I can't quote it exactly right now, maybe someone will know the exact one, but I will tell it as I remember it, there was a woman who committed adultery and she came to the prophet saws to confess and he turned away from her as though he did not hear and told her to go away, but she insisted and confessed and begged him to carry out the proper punishment, so he reluctantly then agreed and ordered that she be stoned to death. This example is that the prophet saws wanted only to forgive the woman, he did not want to hear her confession, and we all should want to forgive as much as possible, because in the end any transgression is only between the person and Allah. This is similar to the saying of 'eisa alaihi salam as you remembered.
to continue the story of this woman, as I remember it, after the woman was dead some of the people were talking about her and about what kind of awful punishments she will receive in the next life for her transgression. The prophet saws overheard and told them, she is completely without sin and will receive no punishment in the next life, she paid for her sins in this world fully and is now cleared of them, and she will go to jannah.
please someone correct me if I have gotten any of that story wrong.
