I think this was a very important article to post on parenting, especially for any new parents.
I absolutely despise the advice given in "what to expect the first year" when they say to let the baby cry for an hour, or till they pass out..... even if they are hysterical. What mother would torture her baby like that and make them suffer?
I had my first child when i was only 23, and I instinctively HAD to have my baby at my side, we slept together in the same bed till he was about 2. When he was 2 1/2, I had my daughter, so there definately was no room.
When my children cried in the middle of the night, I jumped up like shot of lightening. There is no way in the world I would ever leave my baby like that. I have read that it is a MUST to go to your baby immediately when they cry, because that is their lesson that they can depend on you. You are actually teaching them lessons in life without even knowing it, by doing something simple like just being there.
Thank you for posting this.
