I'm glad to see that there has been at least some discourse on this issue and that Radiyah has made it more clear that he/she(?) wasn't trying to be racist or anti-Jew. However, Radiyah, as a word of caution, stereotypes are very dangerous. They lump people into certain rigid castes and prohibit understanding and progress toward peace. I would be very careful to say "Jews will be Jews and will always break their promisses" when you know full well there are countless Jews who do not fit this description.
And Muslimah. Thank you for understanding that I do not, personally, believe the Qu'ran is the definitive word on everything. THat was one of the things that drew me to this board; that Muslims, people who may want to become (or return to being, as you say) Muslims, and people who have no interest in converting to Islam, could come and freely discuss Islam without fear of ridicule. Anyway, I think we've beaten this topic to death. Time to stop beating a dead horse (as we say in this crazy country.) I wish to discuss Ramadaan related items as it is coming up (or already here?) so you'll probably see me on the Ramadaan section more often.
Also, I'll be without internet access for a little while. Hopefully no more than a week or so. So don't think I was abducted by aliens or kidnapped by crazy hillbillies or anything.
