sects in Islam? okay, let me put it this way, no matter in which sects a muslim is, as long as he confessed that "there is no God but Allah and Muhammad (pbuh) is His messenger" than that muslim is a brother to another muslim, disregarding the sects. That's what the ukhuwwah Islamiyyah/Islamic brotherhood is all about. the difference between shi'ites and sunnis is that the shi'ites love Sayyidina Ali r.a. more than other companions, while the sunnis love them equally. and there's nothing wrong with that.
if that person resist on the "there is no God but Allah and Muhammad (pbuh) is His mesenger" than that person is not a Muslims. it is so simple. i don't think you can compare the sects in Islam with the sects in Christians.
i give you three major differences:
1) Muslims follow ONE Qur'an, Christians follow LOTS of Bibles...
2) All sects in Islam says Allah is The One and Only God, Christians' explanation of trinity differs from one sects to another.
3) In Islam, shi'ites address sunnis as true muslims and sunnis address shi'ites as true muslims and the same goes to every sects that says "there is no God but Allah and Muhammad is His mesenger". In Christians, each sects accused the others as non comitted Christians.
Islam is not political in nature? there is politic in Islam. there's everything in Islam including economics, sciences, socials etc.
Islam is a submission to Allah. we follow the Imams and ulama'/scholars because they know better than us. they mastered fiqh/jurisprudence so they make the best decision. the word "submission" is not a word to describe the way Islam treat imams and ulama'. our submission is only to Allah, not the imams, not the leaders and not even to Muhammad (pbuh).
and Allah is not a democrat, nor a republican, nor a socialist, not a communist and of course not a religious tyrant. those political system are created by man and Allah is the God that created man. how funny if you think that the creator of man would be in a man made system... irony...
Allah is the God, not a political figure.
Is Allah just the God of Muslims? no. He is the God of every creation, living and non-living, including YOU. Allah does not belong to muslims but muslims are the peoples to give submissions to Allah, believe in Allah and obey Allah's command.
