Islam In America B4 Columbus
#41

Christopher Columbus was responsible for the murder of millions of Native American Islanders. He completely obliterted the entire race of people who inhabited Hispaniola. Read chapter one of "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn. It details Columbus' conquest of the American islands where soldiers partook in rape, murder, torture, and racial extermination.

In the aformentioned chapter, Zinn describes a law issued by Columbus that stated that all Indians had to find and hand over a certain amount of gold each month to receive a medalion. Those who were spotted without a medalion had their hands cut off and bled to death. Another joyous recounting comes from two soldiers who, for fun, cut off a teenage Indian's breasts and played catch with them.

That is why I hate Columbus.

That was what I tried to say on other posts, and some non muslim member, said it was ridicolous. I heard one of our scholars last weak talking about the history of Islam in north america, that the invaders after raping and killing in one of the states, the red indian were refugees in camp and felt sick and cold, they gave them blankets with tefood virous, which annihilated what was left of the tribe.

And yes we do not deny that there were others who reached the americas before muslims, but what we are trying to prove, that muslims went there peacfully spreading Islam, and not by killing raping and extermination of a whole nation.

I share u the hate for colombus really [Image: smile.gif]

Anyone who says that the claims against Columbus are "rediculous" are quite misinformed. It is no secret that Columbus was a murderer. These facts are widely denied or simply not talked about in most American primary and secondary schools, but that doesn't change the fact that they happened. Columbus also has a lot of backers in the United States, especially amoung Italians (Columbus was Italian.) Every year of Columbus day, Italian groups stage big parades for him, and American Indian groups have counter-rallies. Obviously, this guy pissed some people off.

I am reading a book called "Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything your American History Textbook Got Wrong" by James W. Loewen. This is a very good read. I highly recommend it, especially to Americans. Basically, history is not really being taught in schools, nationalism is. It is a sad state we are in when the truth of history is squashed for fear that people might actually make up their own minds about certain situations. History is not written in stone. It is fluid and changes with new discoveries and insites. We must start teaching it as such instead of using it to indoctrinate people.

Peace.
