Voluntary Fasting
#1
I'm a new Muslim who'd like to do a voluntary fast for 3 days...Can anyone please tell me exactly how I perform voluntary fasting according to Sunnah as I can't find info on fasting outside of Ramadan. Some proof from Qur'an or Hadiths would be great too! Thanks! Was-salamu alaikum [Image: smile.gif]

if you went to sleep without any intention to fast the next day and you waked up and didn't drink or eat until Al Dhuhr prayer you can continue the day as a voulntary fasting day (although you didn't have the intention until before Dhuhr prayer) and that is not valid for ramadan fasting where you should have the intention to fast the night before.

Assalamu alaikum Qutuz,

Out of curiosity is there a hadith or Qur'an verse that can verify this info inshAllah, or a link to that info? Thanks also to lifutushi for the other links. [Image: smile.gif]
