dear sister Muslimah...

i've no doubt about Qur'an being the word of God. in fact i've never doubt my faith in Allah. i strongly believe that God is one, Allahu Ahad. La ilaha illa huwal Hayyul Qayyum..

i just don't understand the concept of trinity believed by Christians, no matter who is explaining it to me,be him a Christian or Muslim.

DEAR joshua72 hope the following verses of quraan answers your questions with my best regards to you.

O People of the Scripture! Do not exaggerate in your religion nor utter ought concerning Allah save the truth. The Messiah Jesus son of Mary, was only a messenger of Allah, and His word which He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him, so believe in Allah and His messengers, and say not "Three"! Cease! (it is ) better for you! Allah is only One God. Far is it removed from His transcendent majesty that He should have a son. His is all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is sufficient as defender.

The Messiah will never scorn to be a slave unto Allah, nor will the favored angels. Whosoever scorns His service and is proud, all such will assemble unto Him.

Then, as for those who believed and did good works, unto them will He give them their wages in full, adding unto them of His bounty; and as for those who were scornful and proud, then He will punish with a painful doom." (Al-Qur’an 4:171-173).

"And with those who say Lo! We are Christians, We made a covenant, but they forgot a part of that whereof they were admonished. Therefore We have stirred up enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection, when Allah will inform them of their handiwork.

O People of the Scripture! Now has our messenger come unto you, expounding unto you much of that which you used to hide in the Scripture, and forgiving much. Now has come unto light from Allah and plain scripture:

Whereby Allah guides him who seeks His good pleasure unto paths of peace, He brings them out of darkness unto light by His decree, and guides them unto a Straight Path.

They indeed have disbelieved who say: Lo! Allah is the messiah, son of Mary. Say: Who then can do aught against Allah if he had willed to destroy the Messiah son of Mary, and his mother and everyone on earth? Allah’s is the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He creates what he wills. And Allah is able to do all things. (Al-Qur’an 5:14:17).

"They surely disbelieve who say; Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary. The Messiah (himself) said: O children if Israel, worship Allah, my Lord and you Lord. Lo! Whosoever ascribes partners unto Allah, for him Allah has forbidden Paradise. His abode is the Fire. For evildoers ,there will be no helpers.

They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the third of the three; when there is no God save the One God. If they desist not from so saying, a painful doom will fall on those of them who disbelieve.

Will they not rather turn unto Allah and seek forgiveness of Him? For Allah is oft-forgiving, most merciful.

Say: Serve you in place of Allah that which possesses for you neither hurt nor use? Allah is the Hearer, the Knower.

Say: O People of the Scripture! Stress not in your religion other than the Truth, and follow not the vain desire of folks who erred of old and led many astray, and erred from a plain road." (Al-Qur’an 5:72-77)

have a nice time

Holy crap, I'm gonna have to regulate on these suckas again ;-)

Ok, Holy Trinity. Here we go:

The holy trinity was invented by humans to pay homage to the 3 forms in which God has presented himself to us. 1- as the big dude flaoting in the sky. 2- As the living, breathing Jesus Christ. 3- as the Holy Ghost, or Jesus after he was killed and then ressurected. Should god ever pop in again with another form, we'll have to add another one.

St. Patrick taught the Holy Trinity to the anamist Celts by using a shamrock to explain the holy trinity. 3 leaves, but one stem. All 3 forms of God are really just one god.

I'm surprised this is what confuses you about Catholicism (I'm assuming you mean Catholicism since most other branches of Christianity don't use the holy trinity.) There is some ever more bizarre stuff like taking the holy sacriment, the illuminati, voo-doo, and pergatory. That's the stuff that makes ya go "hmm?"

How about confession Peace, why would u confess to a human being disclosing your own sins, when your Lord concealed u and can simply forgive. O and why would u confess to start with seeking forgiveness from the Preist when Jesus died on the cross to eliminate his own servants sins hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm??????

Peace in Ireland HELLO [Image: smile.gif]

there is ONLY one verse in the WHOLE Bible that really explain trinity.. and that is 1 john 5:7 where it says "there are three that bear record in heaven , the Father, the word and the holy ghost and these three are one" (KJV). BUT the bad news is that 32 Christian Biblical scholars backed by fifty cooperating Christian denominations tell us that through their study of recently discovered manuscripts of the Bible they have found many grave and serious defects in the King James Version of the Bible. one of those grave defects is the above verse.. and thats why they produced ANOTHER BIBLE called (THE RSV) the revised standerd version of the Bible and they eleminated the above verse from their Bible as a fabrication not to be found in the original manuscripts. so i think you need to explain to them what is really trinity peace .. as we Muslims already understood it very well as it mentioned in the Qur'an:

"and say not, "Three". Desist, it is better for you; Allah is only one God; far be it from His glory that He should have a son; whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth is His; and Allah is sufficient for a Protector." (4:171)

So Peace In Ireland...

thank you for your explanation... but i have more confusions in my mind, if you can clear out the doubts for me. If Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit are the same God but in different forms, so during the lifetime of Jesus, is there any God 'up there' administering the universe?

Hi and salaam, Peace in Ireland

Since you invited us to raise questions I will also take the opportunity to do so.

You wrote in your last comment -

- (I'm assuming you mean Catholicism since most other branches of Christianity don't use the holy trinity.) -

I have a friend that is a Anglican priest, and HE says that almost all different branches within Christianity has one thing in common and that is, among some other doctrines, also the doctrine of trinity.

Word against word - any comment to this?

Another thing - I have never figured out WHY God, that also you say can do anything, could not forgive the first sin that man and woman ever made, in the Garden? The Islamic teaching is, that Allah, SWT, gave the first human beings the knowledge of HOW to repent when making a sin and HOW to ask for His Forgiveness. And since He CAN do anything, He is also capable to offer forgiveness.

This is something that cannot be done, as I understand it from the view of Christianity, so another human being had to be sacrified instead. THEN forgiveness can be done. Then sin can be forgiven.

To ME that doesnt make any sense. It gives a picture of a God that is not able or capable of His own to do things (astaghfirullah).

Salaam
