A sister says "I'm too young"
#1

I'm still young.

Do you know when you'll die sister? The youth's deaths are increasing! I will give you an example of a girl. A True story that really happened.

This happened in Egypt, Alexandria last year in Ramadan. The man was telling me that his wife is a Mohajaba. Living in front of them was a young girl who is not a Mohajaba. And the girl has good things inside her heart, like all of our sisters in Islam, but she doesn't understand the meaning of the Hijab and the meaning it has in Islam. So he said that his wife (and this is obligatory for all the women who wear Hijab) had good relations with this girl. She didn't ignore her just because she doesn't wear the Hijab, no, she was friends with her. So one day the young girl had come to ask the wife if she'd come shopping with her to buy a jeans suit. So the intelligent wife who knows that she has to give the girl dawah [knowledge of Islam] agreed to go shopping with her, but under one condition, the girl comes with the wife to an islamic circle that was going to start. The girl agreed.

So they went to the circle and it was about repentence to Allah. And the girl was so inspired by what was being said, and started to cry until she kept repeating one sentence over and over again: I've repented Allah, please someone cover me. The people told her okay let us take you home and you can put the Hijab on. But she refused, wanting to be covered right at that moment with the Hijab, she couldn't go out without it.So they got her a scarf and a dress, and she left the building with it on. And as soon as she left to cross the road, a car hit her and she died.

I swear this is a true story. She died before she had repented. She is lucky MashaAllah that she repented before she died. So never give the excuse that you are still young, because you never know when you will die.

This girl was lucky that she repented before she died. Not many people realise that death could be just around the corner and can hit u at ne tym. So delaying or messing around is this life may lead to u not havin time to repent at all and follow islam in the proper manner. Aslo its never to early or to late to turn to Islam and ask for forgiveness for wot you have dne wrong.

How old exactly is the girl. Sometimes I find parents forcing their daughters who are probably still in grade 3 or 4 to wear hijab. Knowing that hijab's purpose is to keep lustful men from looking at the beauty of women makes me feel sick when I see those children wearing hijab. First of all, they ARE too young to be placed in that suspicion. Secondly, they ARE too young to be restricted in such a way. Childhood comes once in a life time, let them learn a little, but have fun alot while they still can.

but i suppose the girl in the story is much older ofcourse. [Image: smile.gif]

(Assalam)

1. Parents duty primarliy is to teach their children what is halal and what is haram.

2. parent will be held accountable before Allah about how they brought up their children.

3. Having fun have nothing to do with going to streets almost naked not helping men to lower their gazes.

4. I dont think u need to be  seeing young girls wearing it. we can only say yes it is early but not sickening. But if the girl is ok with it, it has nothing to do with ripping off her childhoos.

5. Some parent are so concerned about the current situation of the socities and feel very much wanting to have the girl realize the importance of covering up herself.

6. It is better to train the girl about it rather than leaving her get used to the other wise situation until she grows up very ok with her appearence, then gets into the dilemma of needing to re adapt.

Well u think this is enough son

Ah well mother! Indeed they should get used to the hijab, but I would say to give them at least until grade 7 when they reach the secondary stage. During their primary life, the hijab serves no purpose, only restricts.

I'm not saying that they should go half naked, only dress modestly.

Also, a woman wearing hijab should be convinced that it is the right thing or else the hijab wont serve any purpose at all because her heart is against it and she will take it off, or act un-islamicaly in the first chance she gets. Hijab is not something you get used to, its something you understand, accept and want.

I agree with u son, that Islamic dress code for women is not merely a head cover and long dress, it goes beyond this, but it is also like anything else, prayer for example u need to develop the habbit with it, believe me it starts like this, I m not talking without experience. When little girls are used to being LITTLE and can go in shorts, minis or swimming suit, because they are still LITTLE, it becomes instilled in them that this is just for being young and vibrant nothing wrong with it. If we come to it according to Sharia`a of course a girls is commanded to observe it once she reaches maturity.

well I know u r :computera :learn: dont spend much time we want straight A s Insh a Allah. and when u have a daughter, have her adhere to Islamic dress code on her maturity. [Image: smile.gif]

Asalaamu alikum,

I am a mother of a young girl. We should be supporting our young girls, not trying to discourage them. If you see one you think is too young, please keep your mouth shut. You don't know her heart, and she could be very happy. Weather you agree with it or not, those kids are not doing anything wrong, and they certainly are not harming you. So if you cannot support your young sisters, just stay quiet.

Show our youth that we are brothers and sisters and that we can reply on each other for support. Treat them well and with respect, you can learn from them and they can learn from you, and insha Allah they will be better than the current generation.

Like I said Jennifer it needs training, and true most of those girls who wear it at a young age, it is their choice they usually see a role model in the mother. I have an american friend here who wears niqab, her two 11 and 9 years willingly asked her to put them in niqab Sobhan Allah. They are usually not forced. Although I forgot to bring an important point on my last post, parents being responsible before Allah, at the age of maturity they must command the girls to wear it.

@Sister Jeniffer: Where exactly did you conclude that I discurage anyone from doing anything. As for me, when I have a daughter inshallah, I will keep it to her wish whether she wants to wear the hijab or not.

You can force someone to have the hairstyle you like, to dress the way you like, to put the perfume you like, but sooner or later, you will die or become too far away to keep your control over that person that that person will finaly find a freedom in release from your clutchs.

Take me for example. I'm a boy who's been spending the last 6 years in this misrable house of my parents. The only time I go out is to school and back again. In a closed country like Saudi Arabia, my parents are making things even much worse by trapping me in this house. Not only that, they dont like me to have my long hair, they dont like the music I listen to nor do they like the way I dress (I only wear black).

When it comes to me, after about a month I will be off to England for university. What will I do? I'm going to grow my hair twice as long. Ever heard of goths? Yes, that's exactly what I will look like. The only difference ofcourse is that I wont turn satanic [Image: rolleyes.gif] .

For me, I love my parents, but I dont believe in their control over other people, especialy when they reach a certain age. If I dont believe in what they do to me, then they shall never be able to force it on me. Maybe temporarily, but sooner or later I will shoot back and for some people that might have weak self control, they might shoot back very hard into going against their religion even.

For my daughter, I will teach her, but I will leave the choice up to her in the end. I will tell her why hijab is important and I will show her the beauty of Islam. But in the end, no one except God can force her to do anything. If I force her to wear hijab in my presence against her will, God knows what she will do in my absence.

In the end, the way you raise your daughter is up to you. If she's happy, then good for her. All the better. If she's not...well I dont want to tell anyone how to do their job. Its your business.

Finaly, dont tell me shut up cause I never tryed discouraging anyone. All what I said is that I find it disgusting to force little girls to wear an object who's purpose is to keep away lustful eyes. Each age has its thing. For the young ones, it is a time for fun and laughter for it will never come back again. From grade 7 upwards, it is secondary stage where you start learning and building your personality. THEN, maybe you should introduce the hijab.

Period.

as salam alykom Purgetroy

there is much difference when we say to instil Islam into children and rip off their freedom, for to be honest we are not free, we are slaves but slaves to what that is the difference. U might be a slave to Allah, and only Allah. The other alternative is very ugly, to be eslaved to yourself, desires, money, fame name it.

Now since parents are accountable before Allah about their children, they are commanded to instil what is halal and what is haram. A child must learn from young age to observe Allah's rule. U know why? simply because when he goes to England alone, he will still observe Allah's rules who is there and everywhere.

Hope I made sense.
