Is it wrong to make your hub promis not to have a 2nd wife?

I was just curious, is it wrong if a wife asks her husband not to get a 2nd wife because it will affect her deeply aswell their relationship? I'm not married, but I just wanna know coz I wanted to write in the contract that he wouldnt engage himself into polygomy. I know, I have NO RIGHT to make whats halal, haram.

But, I am a child who's father had 2 wives and it affect me deeply when he was thousans of miles away from me and my family so he could be with his other wife. Back and forth, back and forth. I'm just thinking on how my kids (inshAllah if Allah wills me to have any) will feel knowing their father is not there for them 24/7. And me knowing that my hub whom I love, is sharing the bed with another person :mad: . Subhanallah, I wish I wasn't selfish. I want this selfishness to end, but... Sometimes we act in such a way. Anyway, plz answer my question. Bcoz I... I don't want to make whats halal, haram.

without going into details, a woman is allowed to stipulate in her marriage contracts many conditions, of them that the husband does not take a second wife or else she would be automtically divorced. She is for example allowed to stipulate that she does not leave her country in case the husband takes a job in another country, and many other conditions.

Wow I never new that! That’s a really good topic. I think all Muslim women must know their rights and responsibilities before getting married. That way she can't loose her rights in this unjust world that we live in 2day.

true Alhamdulelah Islam is so perfect and Allah (S&T) determined rights perfectly for mankind even animals have perfect rights in Islam. A woman is also entitled for a totally independant financial position. In other words, a husband is not allowed to know or take from his wife's money (her own income).
