No offense, under no circumstances I am trying to underestimate your effort, Jazakum Allah khairan for putting this effort on the forum for many others to benefit Insh aAllah. Mash a Allah. Rasul u Allah said convey after me even one ayah.

However, almost the same info, regarding stoning was put much earlier to Habib. Well, and Alhamdulelah, I reached the same conclusion u made, Alhamdulelah, we do our duty present info for seekers, but then we dont get carried out in argument. And I suggested to him/her also for me to start a new thread and put some questions. One of them u just made Alhamdulelah.

Well Dan, now he/she really has the choice to make and u know what I mean. The more I see unstable souls like him/ her the more I grow grateful to Allah the One who created the worlds. Alhamdulelah Dan we are Muslims Alhamdulelah we see the light.

Mash a Allah and Allah u Akbar

I have a point to consult with u first before posting it, of course u know how much Islam is different in terms of the intimiate relation between husband/wife. and how in Islam a woman is much respected in terms of her needs and so forth. U see I can post this, honestly I feel shy to talk about it. But u think it is appropriate for me to do? because actually this point has been always amazing as to how much Islam is understanding and the quran and hadeeth are very precise about it. or may be u can post it

tell me what u think

Jazakum Allah khairan:o

Habib, just also to fulfill my duty and answer a question u posted here being a female. Once I worked with a Jewish American woman for quite sometime that we developed a close relation. She was interested in studying women related issues in Islam. She made the same point about the difference in witensses. In no way this is disrespectful of wome. I just asked her, what was her behaviour during pregancy with her husband? she said I was very itchy asking for divorce for the tiniest argument, not having enough tolerance, tends to forget. Same conditions a woman passes by every month. In this she is not less than the man, but due to her psychological different conditions tends to forget or be under emotional stress that might make her judgment wrong. Allah, in the witness issue, stresses the necessity of a correct statement.

As for inheritance, a woman is supposed to be supported by husband, brother or male members. She is also entitled for totally independant financial status. In other words, what ever inheritance she has, or money from any other source, a husband is not allowed to use, yet is obliged to support the wife. So that makes a man needs 2 times what a woman may take, since she will enjoy her own financial resources and be supported by the male member.

I have another point but I will consult with Dan first

I understand my fellow muslims inquiries about why I continue to dialogue with someone who is apparently never going to change their mind.

It would be easier to stop answering and ignore but there is no reward in that. Also Insha'Allah someone will see what has been written and may get their mind thinking and reflecting.

I remember two things that keep me going. One was the du'a by Rasul-Ullah for either Abu Jahl or Umar to convert to Islam. Both of these men were fierce enemies of Islam. Both of them set out on a mission to kill Muhammad at one time or another. Why would the prophet ask for such people to be converted? From our history it seems that some of the best muslims were those who had to struggle with the concept for a long time before accepting the Truth. I prefer people to become muslims after they have thought about it for some time rather than someone to just jump into it without a second thought. Islam is serious. It is the true reality. A person's entire perspective changes and if someone has not prepared themselves then they can easily stubble and fall. I knew of people who would come to the mosque with little background about Islam wanting to convert. Once a person realizes that Islam is not a hobby but a way of life, we did not see him much after that. They did not know what this deen entailed in terms of responcibility to themselves and other.

The second thing was the tireless efforts by the Prophets of God. Muhammad would be ridiculed and have animal refuse thrown upon him yet he would still go out and call to those people to come to the Oneness of Allah. If he can stand the insults and tribulations of the Quraish elite, then I can stand the dialogue on the Internet with people who have no political power or influence in their communities. I may be wrong but if someone comes to Islam from this board, a whole tribe or city is not going to convert. Allah Knows Best. The prophet Noah also tirelessly called to his people for longer than any of us could ever do with fewer results than Muhammad, salahi wa salam.

I just cannot stop because of my feelings. I am only allowed to stop when Allah Allows. How can I know this? Right now, HabibHibee says he is an agnostic which means unsure about the existence of god. Atheist though is certainty in the lack of god's existence. Where there is doubt there is still hope. I was once unsure of God's existence and had to reflect upon it myself and today I am a muslim. I had to go one step at a time though.

Okhti, Astaghfirullah. It is early and I am not feeling too well. I am having a difficult time discovering to what you are eluduing.

If it can be of benefit within the realms of Islam, then Alhamdulillah. I am caused to remember how the sisters at the time of the Messenger of Allah were rarely shy about asking Muhammad about things that he was shy in responding to, like cleaning oneself. I have heard of sisters who will continue to fast during Ramadan even though they have gotten their periods. They also will not make up the fasts because they are too shy to explain to people why they are fasting. I have a belief that there is a difference between being shy and being modest. There are things in Islam that I get shy talking about but I remember that if it is included in Islam then it is modest. Insha'Allah my reply is of some help. I fear it may not be.

On another note, I just listened to a scholar talk about the reasons for the difference in number of witnesses. He explained it as a Mercy from Allah. If a mistake is made the men are held in greater account in front of Allah then the women. He also asked the audience if anyone really liked giving witness. Who wants to serve jury duty? One, it's boring. Two, the pay is low. Three, the responcibility is too high for my taste. I prefer to avoid being a part of deciding where someone will or will not spend the next few years of their lives.

Jazakum Allah Khair for the input from my ummah

As salam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu

HabibHibee

There might be things in my post that you are itching to respond to but I'd rather you focus on what I have already asked. Mainly, If you are agnostic, what is keeping you from being 100% sure that God does not exist? If there is any doubt in your mind about God's existence or lack of? What issues are you wavering on?

thanks

No way I was astonished that u want to continue talking to Habib. I guess I responded to a post u made earlier carrying the same sens. We must fulfill our duty within the framework of what pleases Allah. I just wanted to remind Habib that the same info was given before. nothing more. we are all here Insh aAllah to be honored by carrying the message.

And yes i remembered the same examples and Insh aAllah I will post the info.

As salam alaikum, Okhti.

"I guess I responded to a post u made earlier carrying the same sens."

The post I made earlier was intended to help remind me of my goals here on the board and make sure that I was not just trying to win an aurgument. I found myself getting too worked up over nothing.

I am now trying to be more patient. If anyone feels that I am wasting my time and should not continue, please let me know so that I can desist. I would rather pander to my ummah than anyone else. I apologize if I am repeating myself in my posts. I am only hoping to find the correct words to stimulate the thought process.

Muslimah, you are a respected member of this board and if you wish, I will no longer continue. I have not been around that long so my perspective is limited.

Jazaki Allah Khair

Bowing out, Dan

la hawla wala qowata ila billah, u got me all wrong, sobhan Allah. This board is not mine, it is Allah's, Alhamdulela He gave us a place to work and serve Him akhi, la hawla wala qowta ila billah. I was just trying to tell u that that is why we adopted this attitude earlier and I explained to u that we can not judge people intention and that we are commanded to give the info when sought. U just came now to agreement with us. Dan pls, don t misunderstand me. I am sometimes brief that people may take me wrong.

Mash aAllah I just refrain from praising people in their face.

Akhi by all means pls stay on and serve Allah, talk to people put the info someone will benefit even me, and even if it is just me, again u gain the thawab.

are we clear now with one another hope so..........

Habib, no one said that people get stoned for having sex. Only when it is outside of the wedlock. And why would u want women to be like a one night stand, having sex in an irrespectable manner. well sex is like food and air it is a need we all know that so does Allah. He is the Creator. He only regualted it.

One correction Dan about the woman who came and confessed of zina (sex without marriage)

She came to the Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) first when she was pregnant and confessed, he sent her back telling her until she gives birth. she came back, he told her to go back unti she finishes breast feeding. Can u see, these were all chances for her not to come back. But she insisted to come back and pay for her sin as Dan said here in this life.

By the way can I ask r u a male or female??

Insh aAllah I have more to tell u

I am not expressing myself well. I have been sick for several days and my brain feels stuffed with cotton, the good Egyptian kind. I am just not all here.

Muslimah, jazaki Allah for the rest of the story. I only heard it in a lecture and that part was left out.

I will try to cut back on posting until I am 100% again... or at least as close as I can get to it.

Astaghfirullah. Alhamdulillah

I can't be 100% sure that god doesn't exist because that would prevent me from having an open mind.

However, I am not going to take as the Qu'ran/Bible as proof that there is a god.

If there is a god, it is either unable or unwilling to communicate with the world or is incompetent.
