Praise be to Allah, a praise which is adequate to Your graces and favors, Praise be to Allah abundant and special gratitude, we send prayer and peace on the best Messenger to the worlds our Prophet Mohamed, his family members, companions and whoever followed them until the day after. I seek refuge of Allah’s Complete knowledge from my ignorance, “O my Lord! expand me my breast;* Ease my task for me* And remove the impediment from my speech* So they may understand what I say"
We shall move to another Surat (chapter 70: 19- 34): “Truly man was created very impatient;* Fretful when evil touches him;* And niggardly when good reaches him* Not so those devoted to Prayer;* Those who remain steadfast (here I would use regular ) to their prayer;* And those in whose wealth is a recognized right* For the (needy) who asks and him who is prevented (for some reason from asking);* And those who hold to the truth of the Day of Judgment;* And those who fear the displeasure of their Lord,* For their Lord's displeasure is the opposite of Peace and Tranquillity;* And those who guard their chastity,* Except with their wives and the (captives) whom their right hands possess, for (then) they are not to be blamed,* But those who trespass beyond this are transgressors; * And those who respect their trusts and covenants; * And those who stand firm in their testimonies;* And those who guard (the sacredness) of their worship;” The noble Ayahs start by describing how mankind in general is impatient. Yet it made an exception of a special category of people. Those people have a number of characteristics as follows:
1. With all due respect to the scholar who shouldered this very hard task of translating the meanings of Quran may Allah grant him an incomparable reward. I would rather use the word regular to express the Arabic meaning of (da-emoon). For da-emoon is derived from modawama which means being regular on something. So the first characteristic is to be regular on prayer. In other word, not to peform prayer for some time and fail to do so on another. This makes prayer a fundamental means to stand in trials and tests in order to avoid being impatient.
2. The Ayahs include other features, taking in consideration that the order is set on purpose for us to observe the proirities of such features, going through giving money to the needy which comes second after prayer for money is one of the dearest items to mankind so whoever is capable of not letting the heart be owned by his wealth shall certainly stand trials, followed by believing in the Day of Judegement, fear Allah’s punishment, gaurd their chastity, observe trusts and coventants, give their testimony when asked for it.
3. The final point after all this again involves prayer but this time the word in Arabic is (yahfezoun: best translated as guard or keep or strictly observe). Well I don’t claim myself to be a scholar of course no way. I just share with you what I see. The word to me is a referrence to performing salat on time. Being punctual. No matter what you are doing just leave it and immediately respond to the call for prayer. Actully it is the call for a meeting with Allah. So what could stand the comparison. What is more important. Of course the word may be extended to also include observing proper ablution, proper performance, taking proper time while praying and the rest of the essential items which makes a perfect prayer.

We invoke upon Allah to teach us what may be of benefit to us and allow us benefit of what He taught us. I really hope that Allah supports me in presenting the following verses and credit first and last is to Him only. I also seek His forgiveness and to Him I apologize for any fault at my side.
“Say those without knowledge: Why speaketh not Allah unto us? or why cometh not unto us a sign? so said the people before them words of similar import. their hearts are alike. we have indeed made clear the signs unto any people who hold firmly to faith (in their hearts). موقنون” (Quran 2:118). Allah here used the word Baynna (بين) which translates as made clear and also presented or introduced. So the verse say that the signs are already there, but are made clear to only people who are firm in their faith. It is further translates as certain or confident of something.
Sobhan Allah, it is very true. You meet someone who is searching about the truth, he/she is presented with a sign which may be a very usual one. But he responds immediately. Unlike one who is already taking a firm stand against the truth. In this case no sign shall really work.
“Ye who believe take not into your intimacy those outside your ranks: they will not fail to corrupt you. they only desire your ruin: rank hatred has already appeared from your mouths: what their hearts conceal is far worse. we have made plain to you the signs, if ye have wisdom.” (Quran 3: 118). Here Allah is actually mocking them and telling them plain signs are there. You just need to have the proper understanding. The word in Arabic is ya`aqeloun (يعقلون). The meaning is to understand fully. عقل الشئ a`aqal ashya-a is to understand it. Actually the verse is tackling an important point alerting the believers against those who are not sincere towards them. Those who express hatred verbally while their hearts contain even worse. That is why the adjective here must be ya`aqeloun: to understand.
“Know ye (all) that Allah giveth life to the earth after its death! Already have We shown the Signs plainly to you, that ye may learn wisdom.” (Quran 57:17). In this verse Allah Tells us that the signs are presented to us in an effort for us to understand. Again the word used in Arabic is تعقلون ta`aqeloun.

The adjective of righteous came in countless Ayas of the Noble Quran. However, let us see in this particular Ayah how Allah defined them. In other words who are the pious what do they do.
“Be quick in the race for forgiveness from your lord, and for a garden whose width is that (of the whole) of the heavens and of earth, prepared for the righteous, Those who spend (freely), whether in prosperity, or in adversity; who restrain anger, and pardon (all) men; for Allah loves those who do good; * And those who, having done something to be ashamed of, or wronged their own souls, and ask for forgiveness for their sins, and who can forgive sins except Allah? And are never obstinate in persisting knowingly in (the wrong) they have done* For such the reward is forgivenesses from their lord, and gardens with rivers flowing underneath, an eternal dwelling: how excellent a recompense for those who work (and strive)” (Quran 3: 133-135).
At the beginning of the Ayah Allah attracted the attention of the reader making him alert and anxious to know the output or to be precise why should we race for forgiveness due to which gardens are prepared. Prepared for who? for the righteous. The righteous who do what? Those who spend, restrain anger which is first stage, comes next pardon and then a more encouraging point that Allah loves those who are Muhseneen (محسنين). Actually the word muhseneen in Arabic in this position comes as the maximum level in terms of interaction among mankind. In other words, in case of disputes, Allah encourages us to first restrain the anger, then pardon then which is the highest level to do good to the person who harmed us in order to attain Allah’s love. To be of the muhseneen (محسنين) may Allah make us all among them. To this effect Allah is helping us to establish a community based on mutual kind treatment.
This meaning is further explained in the Ayah “Nor can Goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate! * And no one will be granted such goodness except those who exercise patience and self restraint, none but persons of the greatest good fortune.” (Quran 41: 34-35). Indeed one who is capable of attaining this level of behavior is extremely fortunate. You know why? Because simply he/she will not be busy with anything except Allah’s satisfaction. Will sleep at night with a comfortable heart and soul not thinking of who did what to him and how he can retaliate. Also not thinking of how he was good to this person and in return got nothing but ungratefulness. He/she will realize that we are all servants of Allah. So if I am adopting a kind attitude with people, I only do so waiting for a Divine incomparable reward. Not degrading myself waiting for the human reward.

“Whoever works righteousness, man or woman, and has faith, verily, to him will we give a new Life, a life that is good and pure, and we will bestow on such their reward according to the best of their actions.” (Quran 16: 97)
Sobhan Allah the underlined part of this Ayah in Arabic actually explains that one who does righteous deeds Allah shall make him/ her live a good life (فلنحيينه حياة طيبة), a good life which of course means easy and steady life. Then Allah added that they will also be rewarded in the Hereafter. From this Ayah we see that even if one is seeking a good steady life in this world, it can not be attained except through obedience of Allah. See to me I look at it as trying to apply the Quran rules as much as possible as explained in the Ayah:” So fear Allah as much as ye can;” (Quran 64: 16). Now in saying that one would live a good life, we don’t mean an easy life free of trials. For actually trials are means for expiation of sins, elevation of ranks and closeness to Allah. The Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) said what means: I am amazed for the condition of the believer it is all good, if he encounters prosperity he is grateful and when encounters mischief he is patient and this is only for the believer. In saying to live a good life involves that one would be satisfied and happy for whatever comes from Allah. And actually this is a blessing. How to attain this outcome? Only through working righteousness. Matter of fact when you go against the methodology set forth in our manual (Quran), you encounter difficulties, heaviness of chest, feeling uncomfortable, unsatisfied and depressed regardless of the efforts to be entertained. However, just by applying the Quran and Sunnah, you don’t need to spend much money on leisure trips or beach houses to gain inner satisfaction. Insh a Allah you will gain it even by just sitting at home. For instance, if you deny your own desires for joining friends to an outing and stay back to look after an elder parent. You think Allah is not watching and is certainly Capable of giving you the entertainment you were seeking by going out? He certainly is. Or when you stop going to the masjed (mosque) even for praying Taraweeh (night prayer during Ramadan) or attending a circle because your husband does not prefer you leave the house for long times or your children need more attendance. You think Allah is not Capable of giving you similar reward as those who attend but more over bestow on you the knowledge you were seeking from unexpected sources? He certainly is.
The easiest thing to do in order to pass this very short period of transit before we all depart to our final destination is to apply the manual. We are the creation of Allah and He Knows how we can function best. Only through the rules included in the Quran and Sunnah and observing priorities according to them not according to our preference.
Praise be to Allah, may He accept and prayer and peace be upon His illiterate Messenger.

Did we really submit to Allah, are we completely practicing full submission of our wills which is the essence of Islam. When you talk to people telling them we must submit our wills and just comply to what Allah decrees. Usually the answer comes, we can not isolate ourselves from the community, to do so we must move into caves and stop interacting. Is this true? Does submission contradicts using our minds? Let us see how Quran introduced the concept of submission, then try Insh a Allah to transform slowly towards this meaning in order to secure a better life and a high rank in Jannah.
“Behold! his Lord said to him: bow (thy will to me): he said: i bow (my will) to the Lord and cherisher of the universe.” (Quran 2: 131).
This is Prophet Ibraheem prayer and peace be upon him. Allah presented his attitude in this Ayah as a full submission of his will. This fact was clearly confirmed in two main situations. First when Allah commanded Ibraheem to take his only new born son along with his mother and leave them in the desert where it turned to Mecca including the Ka`aba which they both erected later. He did not hesitate for a second. All what he did is just put them there making the well known dua :” O our Lord I have made some of my offspring to dwell in a valley without cultivation, by thy Sacred house; in order, O our Lord, that they may establish regular prayer: so fill the hearts to some among men with love towards them, and feed them with fruits: so that they may give thanks.” (Quran 14:37). Actually through this dua, Mecca is surviving. For anyone who did not visit Ka`abs yet (may Allah allow everyone), you physically feel your heart is moving towards Ka`aba the minute you lay eyes on it. Sobhan Allah. The underlined verse in Arabic is hearts of some of the people. Who else could be more precise than Allah? He specified some of the people because not all people shall have access to Ka`aba and even there are a number of those who are allowed the visit, simply go there with their bodies but absent hearts. We seek refuge of a blind absent heart. The second and even more serious situation was when Allah commanded Ibraheem to slaughter his own son after their re-union. What both of them said is deeply touching.
“So when they had both submitted their wills (to Aallah), and he had laid him Prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice),” (Quran 37: 103). WOW can anyone imagine seeing a dream about slaughtering a son. Then simply go to the son and explain what does the son say:” Then, when (the son) reached (the age of) (serious) work with him he said: O my son I see in vision that I offer thee in sacrifice now see what is thy view (the son) said: O my father Do as thou art commanded: thou will find me, if Aallah So wills one practising Patience and constancy.” (Quran 37:102). Now the father goes to take the son’s opinion. Although both are certain that a prophet’s vision is a Divine command that must be enforced. Did you realize the son’s reaction? Do what as you are commanded. This is the full submission presented in the following Ayah. What is the Divine reaction after verifying the intention of both of them? Actually usually this part of the story is the theme of Eid ul Adha sermon. Each time I listen to it and not a single time I don’t cry. Specially when the son advises the father to tie his hands before he proceeds so that he would not resist, puts his face down so that his heart would not soften looking at his face. Ya Allah what kind of submission is this? Allah is the Merciful waited until this moment. When the intention of both of them was absolutely clear. Then the solution was of course unexpected. First the knife refused to cut on Ismail’s neck for three times. After which a large lamb came down to sacrifice Ismail when both father and son made their submission clear.
Certainly they are winners in this situation. No matter how hard it appeared. It is worth trying.

Another clear example of submission and its consequence and the subject this time is not even a Prophet is the mother of Propeht Mussa. See in some cases when you talk to people about the benefits of submission and give them examples, the argument is we are ordinary human beings not Messengers or Prophets. How about the mother of Mussa?
”So We sent this inspiration to the mother of Moses: Suckle (thy child), but when thou hast fears about him, cast him into the river, but fear not nor grieve: for We shall restore him to thee, and We shall make him one of Our apostles.” (Quran 28: 7).
The Ayah explains that if she fears or becomes concerned about her son to simply instead of hiding him throw him in the river. She never hesitated. She felt that the inspiration is Divine with a promise to bring him back to her. Not one second of reconsideration. Immediately, she responded. And Who else can keep a promise more than Allah. He brought him back to her as explained in :” And We ordained that he refused suck at first, until (his sister came up and) said: Shall I point out to you the people of a house that will nourish and bring him up for you and be sincerely attached to him?* Thus did We restore him to his mother, that her eye might be comforted, that she might not grieve, and that she might know that the promise of Aallah is true: but Most of them do not understand.” (Quran 28: 12-13).
Brothers and sisters submission does not violate using out minds. However, our minds are best used in the proper place. On how to fear Allah, how to come closer to Him, how to improve ourselves, work on our flaws, help our close relatives to abandon sins, decide on best attitudes (in the eyes of Allah) towards different situation and so forth. In brief our minds are best used on how to adopt a pious attitude. Believe me this is enough to take the sleep away.
When your senses fully submit to Allah to the extend that you feel them prostrate the minute you place your forehead and face on the floor during prayer. When your heart joins the senses in prostration only to Allah. When you feel that your heart does not move to anything except Allah. That is when you will feel that you are compatible with Allah’s Will in all aspects.
May Allah accept and I supplicate to Allah that I was able to convey the idea in spite of the hardness. Whatever is correct is from Allah and whatever is wrong is from me. May He forgive our sins.

As we decided to maintain this thread for comments about the Quran, I thought of another issue to be addressed here. Each one of us when reading the Quran interacts with the verses according to their messages. For instance, we tremble for verses of punishment and the Day After, while we cheer and become filled with hope in Allah's mercy when reading verses of forgiveness and Jannah.
I thought of sharing some of my reactions to some Ayas with you. However, I encourage eveyone to also participate in this topic. Because by bringing more reactions we see the verses from different angles. And of course you know that studying and reading the Quran has a major reward. We could even consider this a Halqat E`alm (circle of knowledge).
But forgive me if I started with such strongly threatening Ayah:
"On the day when every soul will be confronted with all the good it has done, it will wish there where a great distance between it and its evil. but [u:8dd27641ff][b:8dd27641ff]Allah caution you (to remember) himself[/b:8dd27641ff][/u:8dd27641ff]. and God is full of kindness to those that serve him"(Quran 3:30).
Actually this ayah is enough to make me tremble until I read it the next time. Will try to shed more light on the translation of the meaning, on the Day of Judgement each one of us will look at the good deeds he did, while will be wishing to have a long distance between him and the evil. The following sentence in Arabic is actually alarming: Allah Himself is warning us. Oh ya Rub. May He overlooks our sins.
"Lest the soul should (then) say: Ah. woe is me. in that I [u:8dd27641ff][b:8dd27641ff]neglected (my Duty) towards Allah,[/b:8dd27641ff][/u:8dd27641ff] and was but among those who mocked"(Quran39 :56)
In this verse the same meaning is almost confirmed in even a more explicit style. It say on the day when the nafs (soul) would regret for not paying enough respect, for being negligence, for being reckless towards the (in Arabic it is Janb Allah) which is actually His superior positon, His highly respected rank, His elevated self. Same thing this verse actually in some cases makes me unable to sleep.
"No misfortune can happen on earth or in your souls but is recorded in a decree before We bring it into existence: that is truly easy for God:* In order that ye may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult over favours bestowed upon you. For God loveth, not any vainglorious boaster"(Quran 57:22-23).
While this verse brings all the comfort and takes away the worry. It makes me never go up and down for things I lose or receive. For whatever I lose I'd have never knew what may happen if I had them and vice versa. For example, one should not go sky high over a promotion, you don't know what is in it. Or never break down for losing a sum of money, you are not sure about the consequences of having it.

Glory be to Allah, as I already stated on the previous article around the Noble Quran, no matter how many times you read it, still you stop at new positions as if you read it for the first time. Further, you even get affected at certain verses in a way different than the time before. Glory be to “who hath sent to his servants the book, and hath allowed therein no Crookedness”. Brothers and sisters again I was moved by a number of verses and thought to share the implications with everybody hoping that Allah Shall grant us all benefit.
1. “it is who maketh the stars (as beacons) for you, that ye may guide yourselves, with their help, through the dark spaces of land and sea: we detail our signs for people who know:” (of knowledge) (Quran 6:97).
2. “it is who hath produced you from a single person: here is a place of sojourn and a place of departure: we detail our signs for people who understand.” (Quran 6:98).
3. “it is he who sendeth down rain from the skies: with it we produce vegetation of all kinds: from some we produce green (crops), out of which we produce grain, heaped up (at harvest); out of the date palm and its sheaths (or spathes) (come) clusters of dates hanging low and near: and (then there are) gardens of grapes, and olives, and pomegranates, each similar (in kind) yet different (in variety): when they begin to bear fruit, feast your eyes with the fruit and the ripeness thereof. behold in these things there are signs for people who believe.” (Quran 6:99).
4. “This is the way of the lord, leading straight: we have detailed the sins for those who receive admonition” (Quran 6:126)
5. “From the land that is clean and good, by the will of its Cherisher, springs up produce, (rich) after its Kind: but from the land that is bad, springs up nothing but that which is niggardly: thus do we explain the signs by various (symbols) to those who are grateful.” (Quran 7:58)
Let us study together the eloquent incomparable style of the Quran. Look how Allah the All Knowing explained in the first verse that He is responsible for creating stars in order to serve as sources of light which illuminate through the darkness of land and sea. He further commented that He the Superior All Capable explained and clarified the issue of stars to who, which category of servants? To those who know those who have knowledge. In other word, he granted scientists (who could be Muslims or non-Muslims) the explanation of this area.
We then shall move to the second verse indicating the creation of human beings from one soul who is Adam (prayer and peace be upon him). In this part, Allah determined that He explained and clarified this part to people, which people? Who has religious knowledge? Note that this part is involved with the creation, which is associated with faith.
As for the third verse, it refers to and reminds of Allah’s blessing of sending down the rain, which result into growing plants. He specifically mentioned olives and pomegranate. After that He drew our attention to the similarity of agriculture production in some cases and differences of another. Glory be to Allah. At this point it was mandatory for the explanation and allowing of realization, in other words awareness of the signs which Allah Spread around the universe for the believers. People who have faith in His existence as the Only Creator and Arranger of this universe. Glory be to Him of what they take associates. (don’t you sometimes look at plants and say Sobhan Allah out of astonishment this is exactly what it means).
The fourth verse is talking very briefly that this is the correct path. Upon which Allah Says that He explained and clarified the signs referring to this straight path, may Allah make us all the whole Muslim nation on it until the Day After for people who were given the adjective of remembering Allah. In other words, those who maintain the remembrance of Allah in all cases. Those who are able to realize, notice and observe signs of Allah and His indicators which we encounter at every day and each moment of our lives.
Finally on the fifth verse, the explanation and clarification of signs pertaining to the growing of plants in the good country with the Will of Allah. And since it is a good country the adjective used here to describe the people is those who pay gratitude.
Glory be to Allah, each one of the adjectives that Allah mentioned after each of the words “people" clearly indicates the assignment or area of employment Allah made for them. The description is very precise and compatible to each relevant position. Either the scientists whom Allah granted the science of understanding starts and their secrets, religious scholars (faqeeh which is derived from fiqh in Arabic it means to understand and comprehend) whom Allah chose them to be knowledgeable in the religion including of course the creation of mankind from one soul and so forth.
We own nothing but to say Glory to Allah! (He is free) from the (sort of) things they attribute to Him! We also say praise be to Allah for the blessing of Islam and faith which is sufficient as a blessing. I invoke upon Allah to accept this humble effort of which credit is to Him only He who no power or mighty except with Him and prayer and peace be upon our Prophet, teacher and leader Mohamed, his family member and companions.

Many of us Alhamduelah read the astounding Quran several times with the blessing of Allah, Sobhan Allah it is the only book which you are never tired of reading. The more you read it, the more you feel like reading it again. What is even more surprising, is that you read the same Surat and stand on specific verses with more in depth understanding of it.
This happened to me several times. I felt obliged as Prophet Mohamed (PAPBUH) said the best among you who learns knowledge and teaches it. However, I can never claim myself as a scholar, I just feel like a sister to all of you and when I find something I must say. Prophet Mohamed (PAPBUH) also said convey after me even one verse.
Insh a Allah I will try to put what ever I discover in Quran in a series of articles and may Allah accept it a mere deed to Him.
Let us start with Surat Fusilat :” Say: Is it that ye deny Him Who created the earth in two Days? And do ye join equals with Him? He is the Lord of (all) the Worlds. * Say: Is it that ye deny Him Who created the earth in two Days? And do ye join equals with Him? He is the Lord of (all) the Worlds.” (Quran 41: 9-10). However, with all due respect to anyone who exposed himself to the hardest task one could face, translating the meanings of the Quran. I’ll Insh a Allah try to further translate the meanings of these verses for more clarification. Verse 9 starts with a command to Prophet Mohamed to tell the people you are disbelieving in He who created the earth in two days, then He continues explaining that you associate partners with him, who is Him? He is the Lord of the worlds. He carries on in verse 10 saying He placed on earth from above items to keep it fixed. Please note the part of from above which is an indication to mountains as explained in the quoted translation of the meaning, because simply there are other means from underneath which keeps the earth steady, talking about the magnetic power. Look at the in depth explanation and teaching. Then the verse adds that after erecting items to keep earth fixed, He bestowed blessing and allocated resources: in how long time, in four days. Yet people who are eager to fabricate errors in the Quran (we seek refuge to Allah) take this point wrongly. They say that He created earth in two days and then made mountains, till the end of the verse in four days which makes them six days. After that He created seven skies in two more days making the gross total 8 days. While in two other positions Allah clearly indicated creating the world in six days only. Now it is clear to all of us that the gross shall remain 6 Insh a Allah. Well this is not our core of interest in this article. I shall go back to the verse saying He bestowed blessings and allocated resources equally to whoever needs and asks for it. I think after that no one should worry about family planning. Our Creator already allocated the resources and added blessing on earth equally for whoever asks. And please take note of this. Equally for whoever asks regardless of his faith, regardless of being an obedient or sinful servant. In this He treats us all equally. It can not be otherwise. We are His creation and we are entitled for this. He is the Not Needing while we need Him. But what is the problem, how come in some cases we don’t see the enforcement of this law. In other words, why in some cases countries suffer lack of resources and other poverty signs. Let us go back to the manual. Allah Says in another position explaining how we can benefit of this established rule:” If only they have stood fast by the law, the gospel, and all the revelation that was sent to them from their lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side. there is from among them a party on the right course: but many of them follow a course that is evil.” (Quran 5:66). Again I’ll re explain the translation. The physical translation of the meaning is that if only the people of the book applied the Torah and Bible and whatever was revealed to them from Allah, look at the immediate result, He said they would have eaten from above their heads and under their feet. In this expression actually Allah compiled the sources of food, from above the heads in an indication to birds, rain which assists in growing plants, while under the feet of course is very clear containing many other food resources. On another verse it is even more directly indicated saying:” If the people of the towns had but believe and feared God, we should indeed have opened out to them (all kinds of) blessing from heaven and earth; but they rejected (the truth), and we brought them to book for their misdeeds" (Quran 8 : 96).
So it only depends on applying His rules contained in the revealed books. But we fail to do so. Yet He sustains us because He is the Sustainer.
I wonder if I was able to express the astounding meaning. I really supplicate to Allah that I did.
If I was correct it is only from Him and if I was wrong it is from myself. Praise be to Allah and prayer and peace be upon His Messenger Mohamed.

Praise be to Allah, prayer and peace be upon Allah's Messenger the illiterate Prophet, his household and companions. I sincerely supplicate to Allah to guide me closely and allow me the proper insight in order to be able to present the extracted concepts of the following Ayahs, may Allah make us benefit of them and the whole Quran. ameen
Allah in many positions of the Noble Quran addressed Prophet Mohamed, (PAPBUH) and all Muslims of course, using blame style. The degree of blame varied according to the situation. Or let us say Sobhan Allah, Allah addresses His servants using a sarcastic language. Let us take few examples (Surat An Naml 27: 59- 64) and see how strong the blame is and how does it correspond to a certain case.
"Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Praise and thanks be to Allâh, and peace be on His slaves whom He has chosen (for His Message)! Is Allâh better, or (all) that you ascribe as partners (to Him)?" (Of course, Allâh is Better).[1] * Is not He (better than your gods) Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water (rain) from the sky, whereby We cause to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight? It is not in your ability to cause the growth of their trees. Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Him)! ".
The Ayah starts with a command to the Prophet and to us by default to praise Allah, followed by the reason for us to be compelled to praise put in a comparison form, in a way to establish a fact of course, that we praise Allah Who is surely better than what people ascribe as partners to Him. Out of an eloquent style Allah makes the comparison (we seek refuge to Allah there is nothing like Him may He be Exalted). Why He is better? Because He is the One Who Created skies and earth while sending rain to grow the earth. Haven't Him did this we would have never been able to do it. This is the challenging point the Ayah is emphasizing, can we grow those trees ourselves? Can any of the gods they ascribe do it? Yet the description of the servants here are those who make their gods equal to Allah regardless of this obvious fact.
" Is not He (better than your gods) Who has made the earth as a fixed abode, and has placed rivers in its midst, and has placed firm mountains therein, and has set a barrier between the two seas (of salt and sweet water)? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Nay, but most of them know not! "
Here it is followed by a further explanation to the incomparable ability due to which earth became a place for us to live kept in place by virtue of the mountains. Then explained the phenomenon of seas and rivers which may be totally adjacent without mixing at any certain time. Who sat the barriers? Certainly Allah. At this position Allah called those who deny: not knowing. Simply because of the scientific signs brought here as evidence. Specially the part of salt and sweet water not mixing. Only people of knowledge would realize it.
