Am I wrong for feeling like I do about this?? (USA + Israel)

Good question Michelle.

Some, if not all media programs are checked by the pentagon or gov't officials to see what they are saying relating to politics.

We have about 34 Jewish lobbyists in the US congress. They influence the ideas of the Bush Admin. and congress indirectly.

We currently have 0 Muslims in Congress, but we do have muslim rights groups such as CAIR, but they don't hold as much power as the Jewish lobbyists.

Jewish lobbyists are working with the media...indirectly, to promote support for Israel. Unfortunaly its working, and its getting harder everyday for the Paliestinian.

Peace out Michelle.

This is just a side-note for everyone here. This is not an advertisement - it is one way that I think that the truth can be promoted throughout America.

I highly encourage everyone to read Queen Noor's book

"Leap of Faith: Memoirs of an Unexpected Life" and once you finish reading it, PASS IT ON. This book looks like it would be a cute romance story about how one woman became a Queen - but it's not. Instead it is a virtual textbook, factual-packed and easy to read. She gives a great historical and modern account of Palestine, Israel, the UN, and American policy in the Middle East. If more people read this book then more Americans will be educated as to the realities of what is going on behind our backs. If we help spread this book around we can put an end to American ignorance! I don't want to start a riot or a political uprising or anything like that. However, I feel that it's only fair that we Americans KNOW what is going on. And since America is "by the People for the People" we can come together and peacefully put a stop to the corruption and stupidity.

I read her book and then I wrote Her Majest an email - and to my shock and surprise I recieved an email in return!! I highly encourage everyone to write to Queen Noor about her book so that she may be encoraged to KEEP WRITING. Jordan can set the example and be the inspiration we so badly need in this world.

I have tried to post this topic on other Islamic and non-Islamic message boards but I am told that there is "no politics allowed". That is frustrating! You try to share the truth and you are gagged.

I think that this book is a worthy investment and it's worth the effort to pass it along. I'm going to buy copies one-by-one and give them away at my college campus.

Salaam Alaikum!

I'm a student of ancient Near Eastern archeology and I have a problem with those individuals who consistantly state that Palestine "never" existed. Unfortunately for them, the ancient Palestinians always lived alongside the Hebrews. They shared similar language, culture, etc. On the flip side, they weren't Hebraic. I think its completely intoxicating to hear that the Palestinians don't have a home. Such is complete nonsense. The myth of a purely exclusive Israel, as Hebrew archeologist Ze'ev Herzog once said, "ain't necessarily so."

Salaam Alaikum!

Wow-I didn’t realize that people replied to posts that fast, Alhamdulilah!

Well, from my knowledge and study in the field, I (among other student, colleagues, professors, etc.) have come to the conclusion that the “myth” of an exclusive ancient Israel has gone too far. I’m not saying that an ancient Israel never existed, on the contrary. I’m arguing that, since biblical criticism exists and dominates our colloquium, we should use that as a guideline to construct a home for the Palestinians. It seems erroneous for nations (U.S.A., U.K.) to have claimed that the bible cannot be used in the political arena, and then on the same hand uses the bible to construct a home for the Jews and expulse the inhabitants already existing there. Such leaves me baffled, dazed and confused. A good book by a biblical scholar is titled "The Invention of Ancient Israel: The Silencing of Palestinian History" by Keith Whitelam. I don’t necessarily agree with all his conclusions, but this gives a decisive view of how the Israel we picture on the maps and in our history books are far from a historians view. The United States continues to be lead by those individuals who believe whole heartedly in the mythical “Arabic/Muslim anti-Semitism” which intoxicates any future negotiation between the Palestinians and Israelis. I plan to write on this in the near future, insha-Allah. In the mean time, I continue to make dua for our brothers and sisters in Palestine who suffer from the superior hand. I cannot sit too long while the kuffar sits and militates us.

Grace of God onto you:

I was once a heavy supporter of Israel, but once I did my research, I can only conclude that "something" is rotten in the state of Israel.

The ancient nation of Israel was a nation that I would not at all mind to be part of. It's guiding principle, and bonding of the people were centered entirely around God. Not so today. Much of Israel is not even religious, and its laws are not the 10 Commandments which God specifically layed down as his laws for mankind. Ancient Israel was truly a religious state who's people were free to do as they would within its borders as long as they did not violate God's laws.........not the laws of man who is a imperfect, corruptable creature.

Therefore, a nation that claims to be Israel, yet its people and government do not follow the old doctrine is a falsehood in my opinion. They have also adopted Solomon's Seal(not star of David) as the banner that they rally behind. Any one who does enough research into it would realize that Solomon's Seal was a Luciferic symbol in ancient times and that God forbade using it. Yet, it seems that the Jewish people(religious or no), blindly follow what their Zionist leaders instruct them is "right for Israel".

I am honestly THAT clueless!!
Just to play the devil's advocate (I'll net reveal my full beliefs on this issue right now.) Neither of those claims are proven [Image: smile.gif] If you want to "open your eyes" you may want to step back and do some more research. Only a small number in this thread/board are unbias on the issue - most are as 'blind' as you say you were - just on the other side of the fence.

Dear Michelle, Alhamdulelah that most of the American people are just becoming like u. You people are just starting to realize about the directed media info you are all receiving. what u touched on, on this article is the story of the Middle East issue. We as Muslims in the ME have a lot to say. I can actually quote back to the Bosh senior ruling time. At that time, Israel targetted one of the Islamic leaders airplanes. THEY assissnated him. Talking about terrorism. Israel is practicing collective terrorism. It is more than that Michelle. The whole issue in breif if u wanna really know, is about Islam. Israel must continue to live so that they can diminsh Islam as much as possible. This saudi prince was couragous enough to talk. Unfortunately most Arab leaders just fear too much for their chairs to talk. Mentioning US policy. The us has gone so far. They interefer in everything. Beleive it or not last year the congress held a session to discuss rights of Saudi women. Did any Saudi woman complain to them? Is the People's Council here in Egypt allowed to hold a session to discuss rights or red indians or black americans? i guess not. But US is acting like manager of the world.

I don't want to go any more. But we call members to further discuss this.
Human rights issues play an important part in who we do business with now and in the future (why do you think China getting special trade status was such a controversial thing here? Or do you believe we were really discussing treatment because we were plannign to go in an change it?)....... Try thinking a little further than "the US is a giant imperialist manage" [Image: rolleyes.gif]
