how is salaat perform
#1

Salaam brother and sister

I have a very important question with regards to how I perform my pray , recently I pray in a congregational pray of maghrib.

the brother who lead the pray , prayed In the first Raka Sura An-Nasr and in the second I read sura Al-Kawthar,

I was under the impression that you have to pray the surah as per Quran order in other words sura Al-kawthar comes first so this should have been pray first follow by surah An-Nasr.

He states that

The prophet (pbuh) made the first Rak'ah longer and the second Rak'ak shorter. If one does not do this then it becomes Makruh Tahrimi (deemed forbidden). Therefore it becomes wajib to do this.

and is quoting this from Hadith Abu-Dawud, Kitab Al-salah

can you please confirm on this so that I know where I am standing please do quote which Hadith you are referencing to page number verse would be much useful.

may Allah reward you for your effort.

brother

yes it is correct brother.....our Prophet Muhammad(SAW) said that we should make our first raka'a long and second raka'a short and it does'nt matter from where or which surah u recite in ur salah but the words should be clear and it should be recited very slowly and clearly

i have learned this from my uncle ,he is a scholar(Alhamdulillah) but i dont remember the no.of the hadith or in which book it is.........i will ask my uncle very soon and then tell u INSHALLAH
