About the Noble Quran
#21

"Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Little is that you remember! * Is not He (better than your gods) Who guides you in the darkness of the land and the sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy (rain)? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? High Exalted be Allâh above all that they associate as partners (to Him)!"

A major challenge is brought here, since no one else can really respond (only Al Same`a can) to the distressed helpless one (in some cases people may not even notice one is undergoing a serious crisis) who is in dire need for rescue except the only One Allah. Therefore, the blaming language used here refers to the lack of remembrance. For if u remember, u would certainly remember many incidents in which no one else is useful to handle except Allah. For example, as indicated in the Ayah, the same wind which comes by mercy in order to push ships in the sea or helps a plane takes off, can be a disastrous tool fully eliminating cities. Don’t we see this? cann't we remember? And here of course Allah is daring His servants to identify an Ilah (god) who could be above this to deserve to be an associate.

"Is not He (better than your so-called gods) Who originates creation, and shall thereafter repeat it, and Who provides for you from heaven and earth? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Say: "Bring forth your proofs, if you are truthful." * Is not He (better than your so-called gods) Who originates creation, and shall thereafter repeat it, and Who provides for you from heaven and earth? Is there any ilâh (god) with Allâh? Say: "Bring forth your proofs, if you are truthful."

Allah ended this debate with an argument that is totally hard to deny or disregard. Only Him originated the creation and shall repeat it after we all die on the Day of resurrection along with the rest of the argument of providing different types of sustenance from various sources. He ended the debate by challenging them to bring their evidence of what they claim only if it is true.

Certainly they will never be able to

Alhamdulelah for the bounty of being Muslims may Allah maintain it on us during our lives, death and when we resurrect to meet Him. Amen

May Allah accept, what is correct is only from Allah and to Him and what is wrong is from my.

Praise be to Allah who guided us to this and prayer and peace be upon His Messenger Mohamed.

Praise be to Allah, a praise which is adequate to Your graces and favors, Praise be to Allah abundant and special gratitude, we send prayer and peace on the best Messenger to the worlds our Prophet Mohamed, his family members, companions and whoever followed them until the day after. “They said: Glory to thee: of knowledge We have none, save what it is thou who art perfect in knowledge and wisdom.” “of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men)”. We invoke upon Allah to teach us what may be of benefit to us and allow us benefit of what He taught us. I really hope that Allah supports me in presenting the following verses and credit first and last is to Him only. I also seek His forgiveness and to Him I apologize for any fault at my side.

In this message, I like to present Ayahs 67 of Surat Azumur:” No just estimate have they made of Allah, such as is due to Him: on the Day of Judgment the whole of earth will be but His handful, and the heavens will be rolled up in His right hand: Glory to Him. High is He above the partners they attribute to Him”

Sobhan Allah, the word used to begin the Ayah is so strong as Allah clearly stating that we failed to give the Proper value of Allah. La hawla wala qowata ila billah. Among the servants those who took another god, or took partners with Allah, or even the Shirk Khafy (hidden Shirk) which any of us may fall in. When we tend to be fully occupied with Dunia, job, education, position, wife, husband, children, money, to the extend that it physically takes our heart away. Such things which Allah compiled so neatly in: “Say: if it be that your fathers, your sons, your brothers, your mates, or your kindred; the wealth that ye have gained; the commerce in which ye fear a decline: or the dwellings in which ye delight are dearer to you than God, or his Apostle, or the striving in his cause; then wait until God brings about his decision: and Allah guides not the rebellious.” (Quran 9:24) Sobhan Allah, Allah the Creator just presented all what may take us away from our main goal here in this world. Then He stresses why we failed to do so? He introduces the capabilities of Whom we failed to properly estimate, Simply because He is the One on the Day of Judgment Who will be holding the earth in His hand and He put it in a very nice metaphoric style saying as if it was in His fist while the skies shall be folded in His hand. One Who is capable of this certainly deserves praise. For this the Ayah ended with glorifying Allah from what they take as partners with Him.

Allah u Akbar, I was really moved when I read it and felt I needed to share it with you.

While in Surat Ghafer Allah Sobhanhu wa ta`ala say in Ayah 15:

“He is the living (One): there is no god but He: call upon Him, giving Him sincere devotion. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds!” (Quran 40 :65). What can we derive of this Ayah? Many things, of them what I see is that Allah Is the Living and no Deity but Him, because of this we must invoke upon Him, but on one condition, is that when we invoke upon Allah, we must sincerely dedicate our Deen (religion) to Him. The Ayha ended with a dua we must use Alhamdulelah Rubel a`alameen. From this we can easily understand that the statement Alhamdulelah Rubel a`alameen is a dua. Use it my dear brothers and sisters. Ameen ameen ameen.

Praise be to Allah and prayer and peace be upon His Messenger Mohamed Ibn Abdullah, his household and companions

<b>The training course</b>

As salam Alykom

"We had already, beforehand, taken the covenant of Adam, but he forgot: and We found on his part no firm resolve. * When We said to the angels, "Prostrate yourselves to Adam", they prostrated themselves, but not Iblis: he refused. * Then We said: "O Adam! verily, this is an enemy to thee and thy wife: so let him not get you both out of the Garden, so that thou art landed in misery. * "There is therein (enough provision) for thee not to go hungry nor to go naked, * "Nor to suffer from thirst, nor from the sun's heat." * But Satan whispered evil to him: he said, "O Adam! shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that never decays?" * In the result, they both ate of the tree, and so their nakedness appeared to them: they began to sew together, for their covering, leaves from the Garden: thus did Adam disobey his Lord, and allow himself to be seduced. * But his Lord chose him (for His Grace): He turned to him, and gave him Guidance. " (Quran 20: 115-122)

Looking at the above mentioned noble ayas makes me always see the training course Allah sobhanhu wa ta`ala put mankind through so that we would not have any argument as saying Oh sorry we didn't know.

It is just exactly a training course Sobhan Allah and a practical one too. To start with Allah explained the end result that Adam was trusted but could not stand the responsibility. Then Allah further explained that Adam was honored when Allah commanded the angles to prostrate to him, but here we must make a point that this Sujud was not in an indication of worship, but rather respect and a sign from Allah to tell the angles that they will have duty to assume with this creature, as there were other category of angles who were not commanded to prostrate.

Any way let us focus of the core of interest here.

At that point Iblees made a very clear and open rejection to the command refusing to prostrate. Based on this position, Allah warned Adam that Iblees is his enemy and he must be very careful not to let him drive both he and his wife out of Jannah.

A practical direct situation. Yet Adam was unable to stand the test in spite of the training course (and the direct warning from Allah), he listened to Iblees and slipped. The moment Adam ate from the forbidden tree, he and his wife started realizing their A`arwa (private parts), simply because before that they only ate what Allah made permissible for them and thus did not need to pass any waste.

The minute they ate what was not allowed, they lost this specialty and needed to use tree leaves from Jannah to cover themselves. Sobhan Allah, another sign of telling us, you obey you are in the safe side, you follow your own inclinations, you will encounter unexpected problems which might be unique. Of this we must fully understand that only Allah Knows what is best for us and food was just a symbol of this fact. We are His creation, the manufacturer certainly knows how the apparatus may function best.

Unlike Iblees who challenged Allah (wal Iyadhubillah) vowing to take the son of Adam astray. Adam asked Allah for repentance. Alhamdulelah that we children of Adam are granted this blessing of repentance.

We all must be aware of this experience, it is nothing new, the same old story, we know very well that Iblees is our enemy, yet sometimes we fail to resist.

But sobhan Allah the Quran presents the issue in a very easy and direct manner

May Allah allow us to benefit of this experience

Praise be to Allah, a praise which is adequate to Your graces and favors, Praise be to Allah abundant and special gratitude, we send prayer and peace on the best Messenger to the worlds our Prophet Mohamed, his family members, companions and whoever followed them until the day after. I seek refuge of Allah’s Complete knowledge from my ignorance, “O my Lord! expand me my breast;* Ease my task for me* And remove the impediment from my speech* So they may understand what I say.

I seek Allah’s Close guidance and assistance in presenting the following analysis, may He accept it and make it a useful knowledge for all of us.

Reading the following Ayahs a week ago, I felt that I want to share my thoughts on them with my brothers and sisters.

196 " Verily, my Walî (Protector, Supporter, and Helper) is Allâh Who has revealed the Book (the Qur’ân), and He protects (supports and helps) the righteous.

197. And those whom you call upon besides Him (Allâh) cannot help you nor can they help themselves.

198. And if you call them to guidance, they hear not and you will see them looking at you, yet they see not.

199. Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the foolish (i.e. don’t punish them).

200. And if an evil whisper comes to you from Shaitân (Satan), then seek refuge with Allâh. Verily, He is All-Hearer, All-Knower.

201. Verily, those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2), when an evil thought comes to them from Shaitân (Satan), they remember (Allâh), and (indeed) they then see (aright)."

The Ayahs address hard situations which one might face in the path of dawah (calling to Allah). Of course as usual in the Quran, Allah is talking to Prophet Mohamed (PAPBH) giving him the proper instructions which we all have to follow and take as rules in our lives. At the beginning, the Ayah establishes the fact that Allah is the Only Protector, Supporter, and Helper in order to keep this in mind under any circumstances. To further confirm the fact, it is succeeded with a confirmation about those who are called upon besides Allah and the fact that they can do nothing for anyone one nor to themselves.

So now we have two facts Allah is the only supporter and protector and none of what they take as associates is useful in any way.

Based on this Allah Started to explain that when you will try to call those who take associates with Allah to the proper guidance and oneness of Allah, they will certainly ignore you. They might even act aggressively towards you or speak in an ill manner. In such cases, what did Allah instruct His Messenger to do?? Allah told him not to shout back, not to adopt a harsh attitude, not to snap back at them, of course it is easy to do so in order to vent and feel better, but Allah rather instructed him (and of course us to follow) to show forgiveness, enjoin what is good then just simply leave and go away from those who are according to Allah are certainly foolish for not being able to see the light (may Allah allow us all to see the light).

However, in the succeeding ayah, Allah Told His Messenger, in order to be able to adopt such attitude (which is not easy and needs much training and self restraint, needs that we always just put Allah in front of us as the ultimate goal), Allah taught him to seek refuge to Allah when he is subject to the whisper of Shaytan. Certainly shaytan will come and tell you O how come you allow people to treat you this way? how do u accept people talking to you like this? Why would you waste your time when people are not listening or even understanding? For this as soon as you are hit by such whispers, u must immediately seek refuge to Allah. Only Him can save you against such whispers and support u in your efforts.

To further explain this situation Allah described those who follow this guidance as pious, stressing the fact that when pious people are subjected to whispers of Shaytan which makes one blind unable to differenciate between falsehood and truth, that is why Allah say that remembering Allah will brings them back to seeing.

Actually ending the ayah with back to seeing alright only implies that on the first case under whispers of Shaytan one becomes blind (wal `iadhu billah). It is true. Sometimes u talk to someone about a hard situation he / she created and they would answer I think I was totally blind at that time. Only if at that time you would say a`adoudh billah min a shaytan arajeem, u would feel again on the proper track.

As you can clearly see from the sequence of ayahs, Allah presented how people may react for calling to Allah or advice in general in terms of halal and haram (permissible and forbidden), instructed us to adopt a certain attitude, then gave us the tool to use in order to be able to behave in such a manner. Sobhan Allah.

May Allah accept my humble effort, over looks my shortcomings if I was unable to present His ayahs the way they must be presented.

Praise be to Allah Who guided us to this and prayer and peace be on His Messenger.

Praise be to Allah, may Allah help, support and guide me to present these noble ayahs in the best form I could. Only with His guidance we can and prayer and peace be upon Mohamed the final Messenger, his household and companions.

Suratu Youssef Sobhan Allah is actually full of lessons, one can never make a comprehensive identification of them. However, as much as I can I will Insh a Allah share my thoughts with u.

“102 “. That is of the news of the Ghaib (Unseen) which We reveal to you (O Muhammad PAPBUH You were not (present) with them when they arranged their plan together, and (while) they were plotting.

103 And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.”

In the previously mentioned two ayahs, Allah is Telling His Messenger that what he just received (the story of Youssef) was certainly not known to him before. It is ghaib (unseen or unknown), since he was neither living at the time of Youssef nor was he literate to read about it. Allah further confirms this fact by bringing specially the moment when Youssef’s brothers made a plan against him. Definitely Mohamed (PAPBUH) was not there at that time. Which makes a clear evident that the Quran is from Allah sobhanhu wa Ta`ala.

However, Allah succeeds with the fact that even if the Messenger of Allah (PAPBUH) is really eager for all mankind to believe in Allah, yet most of them will not. In other words, Allah is just giving him more information that most of mankind will not believe. In this Allah Is preparing His Messenger not to be shocked or depressed if after such many facts and evidences there will still people who deny the truth. Another fact we see today.

105 “And how many a sign in the heavens and the earth they pass by, while they are averse therefrom.

106. And most of them believe not in Allâh except that they attribute partners unto Him [i.e. they are Mushrikûn i.e. polytheists. See Verse 6: 121].”

After than, having explained the signs inherited in this Ayah, Allah confirms that signs are available in many forms yet people just pass by without even noticing. Here, it includes of course the facts included in the Surah. Although we encounter the signs yet we don’t quite believe.

But let us just elaborate more. To be a believer is a totally different matter from being a Muslim. This raises another aspect of the Ayah, not only believing in the sense of being a Muslim who believes in Allah and the Messenger (PAPBUH). But a believer is one who adheres to the 76 parts of faith, which starts with believing in Allah, and ends up with removing harm from the road. Not to mention of course that many (may Allah protect us against this) fall victims of Shirk Khafy (to take associates with Allah in an indirect manner). Shirk Khafy (we seek refuge from this) is really wide spread. A mother who is obsessed with her children thinking about them when they are out rather than just making dua for their protection, or thinking how to bring them up in a way that pleases Allah. Only at that time, she can just relax and be sure that Allah shall watch over them whereever they are. Or a husband / wife whose heart is totally set on the other party. I am not calling people here to turn into rocks, no I am just trying to explain the thin line between loving in the name of Allah and loving the person per se. Since only Allah is eternal, other wise everything and everybody is subject to elimination. Look at one who occupies a high position after the age of retirement. Usually he/she suffers a great deal for many reasons i.e. people who sought his closeness are now avoiding him/her, since those people were seeking the advantages of the position rather than the person. We see people going out of their way really and sacrificing a lot of their ideals and moral to keep positions or to gain them.

This Ayah sobhan Allah brings to my mind very clearly this point. It is so brief and precise only for us to ponder. In this regard, the Ayah serves two purposes, telling the Messenger about situations he will face while at the same time a warning for us to understand. To understand and be aware not to fall into shirk khafeyee.

Also look at the situation this Ayah was brought in. The story involves a father who lost a very dear child to him, a really dear one. No wonder the All Knowing at the end brings forth the point of lacking of belief at the side of mankind. Wow sobhana Allah. Because Ya`aqoub wallahu a`alam proved to be a believer. He never lost his mind. Insh aAllah will come to this point later.

What did Yaqoub do upon this very hard test??? Did he say oh why, o where is my son; o I can not live without him?? No.

“18. And they brought his shirt stained with false blood. He said: "Nay, but your ownselves have made up a tale. So (for me) patience is most fitting. And it is Allâh (Alone) Whose help can be sought against that (lie) which you describe.” That is all he did, that is how he handled the situation. If only we ponder and can apply.

Usually people read Quran, even interact and may cry in this Ayah. But when it comes to them, not all of course, just as the Ayah explains not all of them are believers, they act in a different manner each according to the level of faith. May Allah strengthen our faith. If only we realize that this world is not but a short trip, nothing will matter. The minute we are in our grave, nothing will matter. No gain no pain. Only our deeds.

90 “They said: "Are you indeed Yûsuf (Joseph)?" He said: "I am Yûsuf (Joseph), and this is my brother (Benjamin). Allâh has indeed been gracious to us. Verily, he who fears Allâh with obedience to Him (by abstaining from sins and evil deeds, and by performing righteous good deeds), and is patient, then surely, Allâh makes not the reward of the Muhsinûn (good-doers - see V.2:112) to be lost."

91. They said: "By Allâh! Indeed Allâh has preferred you above us, and we certainly have been sinners."

92. He said: "No reproach on you this day; may Allâh forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of those who show mercy![1]”

Moving to another part of the Surat. If Youssef was able to pardon his brothers who made an attempt on his life while he was only a child playing around. Why can not we pardon anybody? Why cann’t a wife pardon a husband or vise verse. Why cannt a friend pardons another or an employee pardons the boss. Nothing really worth that we just keep anger and hatred in our hearts. Youssef just forgave his brothers and further made dua for them that Allah forgives them. I know you would say he is a prophet. Yes but Allah told us the story in detail to ponder and apply.

Let us all try to take from Allah’s Name the One Who Pardons’ ( Al a`afow). Believe me life will be much easier. If u simply think that the other person who harmed u is just another servant of Allah, and certainly u don’t wish for anybody to be humiliated in the Day After. Ya Allah it is so hard. No we must not wish for any brother or sister to be humiliated. May Allah help us all to pardon and improve.

Alhamdulelah who has guided us for this and if it was not for Him we wouldn't have been guided.

May Allah accept. It is all from Him and to Him. May He accept what is correct and overlooks any mistakes in this contents.

May He also avoid us Riya-a (showing off) and make it all to Him ameen

“105 “And how many a sign in the heavens and the earth they pass by, while they are averse therefrom.”

With a more in depth look, you can find that, wa Allah a`alam, the signs of Allah are certainly not restricted on the stars, cosmic signs, mountains, rivers and seas. No, and just ponder on the Ayah, Allah made it so comprehensive including all what is in skies and earth. Since Allah is eternal, so will His signs be eternal as well. In other words, the items we mentioned in the previous sentence are constant. Yet of course scientists keep discovering new aspects about them.

But why not look into our daily life. In this you will find numerous signs. Not to mention for example child birth. I am talking more simple than this which people may encounter and yet never pay attention. How many times u made yourself a cup of coffee and found a friend stopping by to give it to the friend and make yourself another one (it was not your Rizq sustainance). How many times, u moved from one place to another, even at work from one department to anothr, and met certain people who played a major role in your life. How many times you were about to go out and something came to make u stay, when a person contacted u for money to receive which u needed badly. Allah Al Moqeet (One Who makes schedules and determine timings), Al A`aleem (All Knowing) works. At such situations if we fail to Sobhan Allah in recognition of His sings then we dont believe.

For example I remember being in Dallas FW in 1998, I had to go shopping, the mall was quite far. Being not really fond of shopping, I decided to spend extra time and finish what I needed. Zohr was on. Now I could have never imagined myself praying Zohr in the fitting room of CEARS. Sobhan Allah, being an Egyptian, but Allah gave me the chance to leave a trace, which Insh aAllah shall cry for me after my death in that place. This is certainly a sign.

While tests and trials are definitely a sign from Allah. Allah alerts the servant once, twice and more in order to let him/her think now where did I go wrong. When they avert, turn away, ignore the various types of signs, that is when the Ayah applies on them as not believing. “103 " And most of mankind will not believe even if you desire it eagerly.”

To be a believer u must be able to realize the various signs of Allah manifested in different forms. I think that is how we must use our minds.

May Allah protect us againt all kinds of evil and allow us to recognise His signs whenever we see them ameen
