I pray Allah bless me to state what's right.

Brother killing is unlawfully is a great sin, so killing yourself is haraam. There is no compulsion in reliegion.

When the Prophet (saaws) was dying, he (saaws) laid in the arms of Aisha (ra) and said , that he had a headache.

Both Prophet Muhammad (saaws) and Abu Bakr ® died from illnesses.

As for pain during death, I have no idea, but as mentioned, the Prophet (saaws) felt pain in his (saaws) head, but during his (saaws) he (saaws) suffered from headaches anyway, masha'llah.

May Allah grant us HIs (swt) good pleasure during life here, upon death, and in the hereafter...amin!

Bismillahir-rahmanir-raheem

As-salaamu alaykom wa rahmat-Allaahi wa barakaatuhu

If when questioning suicide you are referring to our brothers in Palestine and similar - then this is a matter for the scholars. And there is a difference of opinion on the matter.

One group is the 'Ulama Sultan' - These are working for the Kings and Presidents who in turn work for the Kafir.

Another group say it is halal - and have very strong proof.

And a third group says we prefer not to do it because it seems like a part of killing one's naffs (suicide). They follow this up though with a statement that this doesn't mean he will go to the fire. Because who does it bases his faith and action on strong fatwas. And because in our present situation there is no better solution.

I myself refuse to judge. Better to keep clear. Here is a few ayat;

[b:5cba746f15]"A part of My servants there was who used to pray `Our Lord! we believe; then do Thou forgive us and have mercy upon us: for Thou art the best of those Who show mercy!'

But you ridiculed them so much, that you even forgot My very existence, and went on laughing at them.

Today I have rewarded them for their fortitude, and they are the ones who have achieved bliss."[/b:5cba746f15]- Surat Al-Muminun (The Believers) 23:109-111

In the end it may not be haram what they do:

[b:5cba746f15]though killing is bad, oppression is worse than killing.[/b:5cba746f15] - Surat al-Baqarah (The Cow) 2:191

However if your question relates to say; the youth of today who feel they have nothing to live for etc. - then this we know is haram.

Does death hurt ??

[b:5cba746f15]If you could only see these wrongdoers when they are in the agonies of death and the angels stretch forth their hands saying, "Take out your soul! Today you will be rewarded with a disgraceful punishment for saying falsehood against Allah which you had no right to say and showing arrogance against His revelations!"[/b:5cba746f15] - Surat Al-An'am (The Cattle) 6:93

[b:5cba746f15]And fear the day when ye shall be brought back to Allah. Then shall every soul be paid what it earned and none shall be dealt with unjustly.[/b:5cba746f15] Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow) 2:281 (The final revelation from Allah)

Allahu Alim - Allah knows best.

If you have a need to disuss this further please feel free to PM me if that is more suitable.

Masha'llah, you've done well, by making it more clear, the fact is I've also, gain more understanding, about suicide:

I've read where in some cases people even muslim have been insane, also possessed by a jinn and committed suicide,,allah Knows Best.

I'm looking at the csae where, those who kill innocent people and also themselves in the process. I believe (in my opinion) that we have honor in standing in battle, why kill innocent people and commit suicide?

Would that be considered haraam?

It is written that the souls are gently removed from the believers upon death and violently removed from the disbelievers unpon death.

much appreciated time and efforts, you look up everything, or memeorized it, May Allah (swt) bless you to keep up the good works.

As-salaamu alaikum wa rahmantu'llahi wa barakatu!

I've read your reply again, and see that yes, it is a difficult question, whether it is lawful or unlawful. Also, you mentioned that it is important to keep clear of things we are not sure of.

My intentions are to read and understand, never to pressure or compete, so masha'llah.

Also, thinking of the fact that only Allah KNows all, and out of HIs creation, The Prophet (saaws) knows most.

I have many righteous friends some born into islam and some reverted , from all parts of the world, who raise their sons in different ways. these Brothers are knowledgeable and kind servants of Allah(swt), I just get confused seeing different ways, but they all seem to follow the Prophet( saaws) qur'an and sunna, so masha'llah.

I also understand that their cultures are different and at times, the cultures interfer, those are things that I must not attach to islam.

Shukrun again, and keep up the good work

As-salaamu alaikum wa rahmantu'llah

Every human being will feel death, even the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam felt it.

Here are some Ayat that talk about it:

[b:ac65124d05]Everyone shall taste death. And only on the Day of Resurrection shall you be paid your wages in full. And whoever is removed away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise, he indeed is successful. The life of this world is only the enjoyment of deception (a deceiving thing).[/b:ac65124d05][/color:ac65124d05]

[b:ac65124d05]Everyone is going to taste death, and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned.[/b:ac65124d05][/color:ac65124d05]

[b:ac65124d05]Everyone shall taste the death. Then unto Us you shall be returned.[/b:ac65124d05][/color:ac65124d05]

[list:f2f4c14796]Alsalamu alaykom wa rahmatu Allah wa Barakatuh,I would like to add a few things here brother Abdulrahman , killing oneself just because you are sick of life, for sure is haram as brotheres and sisters have stated, but suicide bombers in Palestine, mostly all scholars say that it is halal because you are killing jews occupiers of your country , and you have no other way to defend yourself , but for sure the attack of 11th september is haram. As for death if it is painfull or not , I have a true story that happened here in kuwait to a jordanian girl who was serving in islamic comittees , she served Islam all her life then she got cancer,

and you know what cancer means , she suffered for sure ,

she was patient ,but at the end she was so afraid of death

and she was afraid to go to hell, one friend was beside her and she told her dont say this ,dont lose faith in God you have been a good moslim and don't let satan overcome you.

so she asked forgivness from God and she kept praying and praying, in her last moments she was so sick cant move even , her mother was beside her crying , then all of a sudden her mother was saying she was smiling then laughing and she stood up asked to make wadu and told her mother come on pray pray if u know what God Almighty

has given us in the Jannah u will never stop praying , she told her i see myself there in Jannah it is unbeleivable I cannot describe it , and there is om ghanem with me also,

and she kept praying till she died. So you see she forgot all her pain when she saw Jannah in front of her and had the strength to pray while before she could'nt move. And Om Ghanem the woman she mentioned was another sick woman

neighbouring to her and she was patient and accepting this ibtilaa from God, and she died 1 or 2 days after her. So does it matter if you feel pain or not as long as you are a true beleiver and serve God Allmighty as you should.[/list:u:f2f4c14796]
