The "Original" Manuscripts.

Bismillah:

You get them from people who supposedly orally passed it down from generation to generation etc.

Bother yourself alittle bit and read the books of Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad pbuh, particularly the chapters of the interpretation of the Qur'an. It was he who interpreted the Qur'an and no one else, Muslims scholars and Muftis are only following the same guidelines that were set by the Prophet pbuh, although sometimes they disagree on certain opinions, yet they give all credits to Muhammad pbuh.

Quote:The Church gets it's interpretation of the bible from the Holy Spirit.
The New Testament and Catholic Church was proclaiming the same truths it does to this day hundreds of years before the Quran was ever written down.

Protestants said the same thing yet they disagree on what you believe, so which <i>'Holy Spirit' </i> is the truth! The Catholic one or the Protestant?

There's only one Holy Spirit.

That is actually one of the main reasons that I am becoming Catholic. Not to say that the Holy Spirit doesn't work in the lives of all Christians...but the Holy Spirit as promissed does deposit truth in the one Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Excuse me?

I am sorry but I have to ask again, which ‘holy ghost’ are you talking about?

The one who revealed to the Catholic Church that their Bible should contain 73 books, or the one who told Protestant that their Bible should be 66? Which one? The one who told Catholic Church to pray to the Saints or the one told Protestant NOT? The one who told Catholic to make images and bow down to them? Or the one said to Protestant NOT?

Everyone got his proof and crying loud that they are representing the right Church.

Maybe Islam is the right <i>"Church"</i> for you guys :D :D :D (only kidding and no need for comments huh :) )

If you notice, i was not asking at all, i was only presenting my case which was supported by Christians learned people. all what you have to do is to find out why they've come up with their conclusion. :)

The current 2 leading biblical scholars are Pope Benedict XVI & Dr Scott Hahn (former Protestant). Between them they've written thousands & thousands of books, but you don't hear anybody make a huge fuss over their conclusions because neither one is controversial or contradictory to the truth. They've developed a deep biblical understanding which exceeds all other scholars, whilst remaining faithful to Christ & His Church.

I'm patiently waiting for you to quote their work :)

The Holy Spirit is at work in every individual (even non-Christians). As far as I'm aware, the messenger Gabriel in Islam is the "Spirit". Correct?

As far as dogmas are concerned, the Holy Spirit guides & protects the Church from teaching error. There's only One Holy, Catholic & Apostolic Church, whereas, there are 50000 Protestant Churches all having different belief systems. So without criticizing them too much, I have to wonder if they're really getting their inspiration from the Holy Spirit. I genuinely believe they all try their best to do the right thing by Christ, but in a nutshell, Protestantism is a 500 year old tradition of protesting Tradition. Before then, we were all in communion... & I pray with all my heart that one day we'll unite again in Christ's true Church... all for the Glory of God.

Funny story, real quickly... a former Lutheran Minister who converted over to Catholicism gave his testimony last week & he said that when he began questioning his Protestant beliefs he was led to explore other religions in search of truth & his motto was "ABC" (Anything But Catholic). He loved Scripture, so he decided to look into all the religions of the book. He started off with Mormonism, then Jehovah's Witness, then Judaism, then Islam, before finally attending Mass in a Catholic Church & realizing that our liturgy had Scripture written all over it  I'm so incredibly blessed to have him as my teacher. Thanks be to God.

Peace :peace:
