When we address an issue in Quran, you cannt cut, because Quran is of a coherent texture, that one part explains the other.

You must look at the full Ayah:

""Then, We sent after them, Our Messengers, and We sent Jesus son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him, compassion and mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them, but (they sought it) only to please Allah therewith, but that they did not observe it with the right observance. So We gave those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah"" (Quran 57:27)

Which is further explained thru:

Verily, you will find the strongest among men in enmity to the believers (Muslims) the Jews and those who are polytheists, and you will find the nearest in love to the believers (Muslims) those who say: "We are Christians." That is because amongst them are priests and monks, and they are not proud.* And when they (who call themselves Christians) listen to what has been sent down to the Messenger (Muhammad), you see their eyes overflowing with tears because of the truth they have recognised. They say: "Our Lord! We believe; so write us down among the witnesses (Quran 5:82-82)

the condition that makes them closest to the believers (muslims) is that their tears rolls down their cheeks when they listen to what was revealed to Mohamed prayer and peace be upon him. Thus, this is the situation of those who are existing after the final message, and this is the condition. However, those who didnt catch up with the final message, shall be treated according to how they believed in Jesus, as clearly seen in the Ayah.

I hope it is clear now. Wallahu A`lam.

The only thing I'm confused about it the order of the Ayats. Please correct me if I'm mistaken, but didn't you just use an earlier Ayat to explain a later one??? How does that work :conf06:

Thanks & God bless.

salam FHC,

I m sure I understand your point, both Surah's are Madania (revealed in Medina), if I placed the Ayahs from Surah Hadid (Quran 57) before the one from Ma``ida, I was just trying to explain to you the way u placed them. However, both are interrelated, as both Ayahs defined exactly the attitude of those who embraced Monasticism in different situations. One explains their attitude towards the Quran, specifically when it was recited (it was Surat Mariam), when Muslims sought the protection of king Najashy in Ethiopea against the tyranny of the non believers, who followed them in order to have Najashy hand them over. The non belivers wanted to instill enmity so they told Najashy that Quran says about Jesus that he is only a Prophet and Mariam is his mother. Najashy asked them to recite Quran, the delegate picked Mariam to recite, as he recited the preiests and monks who were present cried so did Najashy for being touched with the Quran.

That was their position, the other Ayah of Surat Hadid, explains about those who chose to go into Monasticism and how Allah Didnt Ordain it on them.

Well, I can see that u wanted to reply using the same methodology and u made a search, we are not saying that Muslims dont commit rape, Zina and the like of crimes which are highly punishable (stoning is for one and in public), we are sying that those Muslims are not committed to a status they chose willingly in the name of God. I still remember Jimmy Swagart who stood in a debate opposite to Deedat may Allah Accept him and grant him highest ranks in Jannah, and next month, la hawla wala qowata ila billah was widely scandilised in a similar case which was widely publiced.

this is the point Wael wanted to introduce. I m not putting words in his mouth and of course he can correct me.

Again, sorry FHC if u felt any offense that was not the intention.

As a "wog" living in an Anglo-Saxon society, unfortunately I know first hand what it's like to be subject to (low level) racism & discrimination. I'm sure this is an overreaction on my part, but I hope your above statement isn't implying that we somehow shift blame away from the rapists. My brother, who looks a lot more Middle-Eastern than I do, is often ridiculed & provoked in the street, but no matter how hurt he is, the thought of rape or violence never crosses his mind. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Only love can conquer hate.

God bless.

Puppet, are you familiar with the "Google Trends" website? It can be used to determine the countries where google searches originate.

For example, the following link will display the countries where the word "sex" is most often googled:

Google Trends - sex

and the following link will display the countries where the words "man boy sex" are most often googled:

Google Trends - man boy sex

Males who live in the Middle East are the most sexually repressed people in the world. To find out why, I suggest you read the following article:

Sex and Taboos in the Islamic World (from the German magazine "Spiegel")

Sexual abuse is an unfortunate reality and there are important regulations regarding these issues No religion can sanction these acts without the writen consent of The Most High and Allah only legislates total benefit for His servents
