Well CC, from my opinion I think he wants to try and explain his speech about Prophet Muhammad(PBUH). But only Allah knows of his intentions. We hope and look at it as good intention insha'Allah :)

Peace

The amazing part is that he support Turkey's affiliation to the EU strange position though.

I think his trip had a lot to do with Ecumenism between the eastern orthodox and the roman catholic church.

He was respectful of Islam while he was there.

The Catholic position, correct me if I am wrong, is that Islam is more of a Christian heresy than a different religion altogether.

How can any of us correct a Catholic, but this is really new to me. I never knew this. As far as I understand, Muslims to Nasara in general are non believers (I seek refuge to Allah fron non believing and I bear witenss that there is not Lord but Allah and MOhamed is His Messenger and devotee).

In the name of God - Father Son Holy Spirit.

May the peace of our Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ, be with you!

As far as I'm aware, there is no "official" Catholic position in regards to Islamic beliefs. We acknowledge that Muslims are fellow sons & daughters of Abraham - no doubt about it! Most Catholics will even admit that Muhammed (PBUH) had some sort of mystical experience :)

In my unwarranted opinion, I think Islam is more of a Jewish heresy with Christian elements thrown into it.

Each to their own, I guess!

Peace!

Given the fact that you are new to the board, u might want to take a look at the rules. Usually they appear to u before registeration and you agree to them. But I guess u didnt read them.

Although we are a Muslim board, we accept no slandering of any figure. Neither we accept using names and words even if u replace a letter with **. Thus, help us to keep this place the way it has always been. Members get banned for this u know. :76:
