Hello,

I've been thinking about how to reply to this topic for a while now. I thought at first that maybe I should just type up evidence backing up the Christian claim, then i decided not to because a lot of points would be missed by the muslims here, you would miss valid points also and the whole situation would end up in confusion.

So........

Here's an idea, set up a new topic, and you can ask specific questions about the Bible and the Qur'an.

Make sure that the questions you ask about both religions are answered fully by designated representatives, and until you are happy with the answers and that all selected evidence is backed up.

I will stand as the Christian representative, unless someone else wants to.

One thing needs to be clear:

This is not a website that needs a Christian and Muslim representive. Twister is here to learn about Islam, if he (or she  forgive me Twister) was wishing to inquire about Christianity it would only stand to reason that She/He would have chosen to visit a Christian based site rather than this one.

----------------------------

To Twister: There are many differences, and it would be impossible to place them all here. I feel sometime as though I could write a novel!

Some of the major differences are these:

As I mentioned in another thread, I am Catholic educated and for about 2 years before I reverted I took a comprehesive Bible study. Sadly, I and many others, were leaving with more questions than answers. Since coming to Islam, I have found that there is NO QUESTION that does not have an answer, and a very reasonable one at that. Islam In my humble opinion has so much to do with common sense. It is incredible.

Another thing that I have never experienced is the true spirit of brother and sisterhood in religion. It does not matter old or young, rich or poor, for Islam hold no social classes. This is a big difference from the church atmosphere I left where the very people I shook hands with during mass will not even give you the time of day in public. I just moved (along with my husband and children of course) to another state to be with the nearest Muslim community. During the time I spent traveling to attend events sponsored by the Mosque I never once paid for a meal or a hotel. The Muslims would not hear of it! the whole family stayed entirely on hospitality! I never met people so unselfish.

I realize this is becomming quite lengthy, but lastly I would like to say that I never befor been so happy. And it is not just me, but my husband and our 3 children (13, 11, and 10 years) as well. After my move I visited my mother after about two months of not seeing her. I was amazed when she sent me a letter saying I never looked so happy and so peaceful in my life. And this is just how I feel. I feel like I have found my home, and I feel at peace.

Well I said I fell like I could write a novel, and I will not do that here.

Twister, I cannot even tell you how happy and how excited I am about you! I believe you are sincere, and believe me, you are very much in our prayers! May you find just what you are looking for! God be with you Twsiter! [Image: biggrin.gif]

It can't be one way traffic.

It's up to you Twister, the ball is in your court and if you want to become a Muslim, fair enough.

Please study both though, better yet, sit down and pray, ask and you shall receive!

Sister Jennifer - I'm extremely happy for you because you are happy, that's all fine and dandy but it doesn't mean that what you are following is the truth, people who are on drugs are happy, not all of them, but a lot are, and the path they are on is not the truth.

If you want me to Twister, I will happily lay out the facts of Christianity and Islam, I'll back my arguement up, remember that Sister Jennifer's happiness is a personal experience, her story above isn't factually of any benefit to you, it doesn't present the cold hard facts, it presents an individual experience summed up in a few sentences.

Number one: Sister Jennifer did not say anything regarding only to have a one way traffic.

Nunber two: I do believe an apology is in order to Sister Jennifer for

This whole statement is completely uncalled for.

A personal attack like this totally out of line. Sister Jennifer is my wife yes, but believe me, I would saying the same if I saw you attack any Brother or Sister here. I expect an apology before any more of your posts.
