Pope Benedict on Islam
#11

By the way...now the Turks are comparing the Pope to Hitler for what he said...

Link

Hitler was responsible for the death of millions including genocide of the Jewish people.

Pope quotes somebody about how Islam has been spread by the sword.

Go figure.

This may sound strange, but I can fully understand how the popse would think this way and publicly decalare his position.

Otherwise, there are many monks and priest who are guided to Islam but they dont declare it publicly.

I mean the Pope is the sign of Christianity, enjoying all the glory, golden ornamented robe and all that. how can I expect him to say that islam, if he embraces it would loose all this rank associated glory, is correct or that the Messenger was the Messenger of mercy.

Dan, the same thing i see around with Coptic Egyptians, they like promise things to Saint Terese, or Saint Marie George, if they fulfilled their needs. They go there and light candles.

Almost laughable hypocrisy, how does he explain the conduct of the crusades?

The spanish inquisition? the conquistadors etc of the centuries?

I believe this pope has more urgent works to do in his own backyard such as child molestation,

rape, fraud, pedophilea involving his catholic clergies in churches around the world.

Where was he when the Lebanese christians were being killed by the Israelies?

Allah (swt) has informed us of their sickness of the heart when He (swt) warns, "Never will the Jews or the Christians be satisfied with thee unless thou follow their form of religion. Say: "The Guidance of Allah,-that is the (only) Guidance. Wert thou to follow their desires after the knowledge which hath reached thee, then wouldst thou find neither Protector nor helper against Allah." (al-Baqarah: 120)

We already know who u are, get to know us :excl:

<i>Isnt it odd that the pope quoted a quote from the 14th century?</i>

now he's claiming that he only quoted somethingn(i was reading that on some news)....sorry but If you Act, Talk, and Walk like a duck you are a duck.

Quote:Love thy enemy, feed the poor, meekness is valued... sounds very similar to many eastern religions that are much older than Christianity.

Quote:Really? Please enlighten me.

<b>Buddhism. Dhammapada 3-5</b>

"The sage has no fixed [personal] ideas. He regards the people's ideas as his own.

I treat those who are good with goodness, And I also treat those who are not good with goodness.

Thus goodness is attained.

I am honest with those who are honest, And I am also honest with those who are dishonest.

Thus honesty is attained".

<b>Taoism. Tao Te Ching 49</b>

May <b>truth triumph over falsehood</b>".

<b>Zoroastrianism. Yasna 60.5</b>

"<b>A superior being does not render evil for evil</b>; this is a maxim one should observe; the ornament of virtuous persons is their conduct. <b>One should never harm the wicked or the good or even criminals meriting death.</b> <b>A noble soul will ever exercise compassion even towards those who enjoy injuring others or those of cruel deeds when they are actually committing them--for who is without fault</b>?"

I'm surprised that no muslims, not just on here but any other media, have noted a key part of what he said.
