Quote:you're so fast at accusing me close-minded, because i don't believe those verses. well, i guess i can say the same thing to you. if i post many verses coming from the Bible that dealt with Jesus' resurrection and it didn't have any effect(in which you doubted or your faith lessend 10%) on you, can i call you then, perhaps, a hypocrite? [/quote:e00b62279d]

I have the Qur'an, it is the word of Allah. Unchanged since day one. The Bible has been tampered with by man. Yes there are some truths in the Bible, but we can not trust its whole contents. The Bible even says one should not eat swine, and it even says that women should cover their heads. Jesus was not resurected in Islam, so I do not believe the Bibles version. My faith has grown 100% since I became a Muslim, and it grows stronger all the time. Do not call me a hypocrite. No one knows who is a hypocrite,(except Allah) and one should never make such an accusation.

Remember I too was a Christian. Becareful of websites, not all are true to any religion. Most are propoganda for any religion. Read the Qur'an, or a book about the Prophet Muhammad(SAW). Darussalam has many excellent books to read. They are authentic for your evidenses. I suggest any publication from them. Try, When the Moon split a biography of Muhammad(SAW). If you read this book, you will no longer question his character. He was a most pious person. He is the perfect role model to live by.

I am sorry for making accusations at you. I mean no harm. All I am trying to say is to open your mind, heart soul and be sincere, Allah will do the rest.

just as i predicted, you fell for my "bait." you said "saying the verses have no effect on you shows your closed mind."

you were quick, very quick in fact, in accusing me of being closeminded.

the reason why i don't trust in those verses was not because i had completely closed my mind, but because i don't believe in the quran in the first place.

if i posted resurrection verses, i'm sure it wouldn't affect you.

why? because you believe that the Bible is corrupt in the first place.

that was why the thought of calling you a hypocrite was lurking at the back of my mind.

i'm careful of websites. the websites i usually trust are the yahoos and lycoses of the christian world, not just some random angelfire pages.

You also mentioned that you were a Christian, please pm me on why you decided to switch to islam. what were the flaws in christianity(if ever) that you found?

Asalaamu alikum wel-mel,

That verse in the Bible that states a woman should cover her head is in 1 Corinthians 11 (5-16)

I do not need to visit Christian sites. I do not live in a false belief. If you want to know how I came to Islam check out the New Muslim Club and look under Introduction. There you will find my wifes post (Sister Jennifer). The same goes for my reasons as well. We found Islam to be a complete religion with no questions left unaswered. It is a complete way of life.

About flaws in Chritianity. I have given two very good explinations in my previous post about eating pork and women covering. Does Christianity conform to these words of Allah? No, they have changed the religion for mankind. It clearly states these words in the Bible, but it is not followed by Christians.

I fell for your "bait"??????? Was I angry with my post? Did I lash out at you? Did I offend you? Where did I say in that post you are closeminded? I do believe I appoligized for making such asumptions. As a Muslim, we must always give the other person the benifit of doubt. No matter if they are Christian, Jewish or Muslim. The other times I said these things was wrong of me. That will be between me and Allah now. I clearly stated what is perscribed by Allah and his Messenger.

If there is a local Muslim community where you live, they will be more than happy to give you a free copy of the Qur'an. Even lend you some other books to read, they will answer any questions you may have also.

As for your other questions in your last post, they have been answered at these forums. If you could please Brothers and Sisters help me find theses answers of the Qur'an being unchanged. I must go to the Masjid now for prayers, Qur'an reading and Tasfer lessons. Fridays are busy busy busy!!! I love this day! [Image: biggrin.gif] I do not know when the first biography was written of the Prophet Muhammed(SAW).

Quote:I do not need to visit Christian sites.[/quote:fc7793b386]I believe I have posted a reason on why you should.

<blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="456" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>I fell for your "bait"???????[/quote:fc7793b386]i left the post "and those verses you posted would have no effect in me" that way, expecting you to pounce and tell i'm closeminded.

well, it worked.

<blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="456" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>About flaws in Chritianity. It clearly states these words in the Bible, but it is not followed by Christians. [/quote:fc7793b386]the deuteronomy part were addressed to the jews and was one of the laws God had given them because He chose them to be His chosen people.

These things, I believe, along with the animal sacrifices had been diminished or abolished because of Jesus' sacrifice.

and about the covering, whisper sent me this so if you have questions, ask him:

[i:fc7793b386]Women's Head Coverings

1 Corinthians 11:5, 13

"But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven."

"Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?"

Problem:

Moslems teach that both men and women should cover their heads during prayer (and that women should cover all of their bodies at other times). They cite this passage in support of their assertion that this practice was taught by the early church.

Solution:

The passage does not require the women to cover their heads at other times than during prayer.

1 Corinthians 11:4,7 which are the previous verse and a verse in the middle of the passage cited by Moslems, say that men should keep their heads uncovered during prayer. If the second part of the commandment (that women should cover their heads) is from God, then Moslems should also accept the first part of the commandment and male Moslems should pray with heads bared.

Here is clear guidance that women should cover their heads during prayer. Moslems should acknowledge that this passage comes from God, which means that Paul is a prophet.[/i:fc7793b386]

Guess Whisper is still lurking around. Whisper, if you're reading this, post in here. You're much better in these things than I am.

anyway, our mission isn't to follow all those practices but to try living like Jesus did, and bring people closer to Him.

Those flaws you mentioned are minor ones. Christians don't practice it, yet it doesn't mean Christianity is false.

sidequestion: What happened to Judas'(or whoever that one is) body?

Deuteronomy is part of your Bible right?

It still must be followed then, unless you do not believe in the Old Testement.

There is more about covering your head. I will post the whole verses Insha Allah so we can all see it.
