Compare Jesus and Mohammed

But Paul's sexuality is not a corner stone of christian belief

Jesus' divintiy is. If something is so important to believe why would it not be explicitly stated? God in the Bible goes from laying out his laws in the 10 commandments and in OT books with specific injunctions, then suddenly becomes ambiguous? Jesus lays out all of his teachings pretty forthcoming but this is not?

It's not ambiguous. The entire bible from Genesis to Revelation is all about Christ. It does take faith however and faith is required to believe. It takes faith for you to believe in Islam too. To believe that Mohammed was the prophet of God (ALlah) and that for you to be saved you must follow what he says.

I was raised christian and could never see this "mystery" defined in a manner that removed all doubt.

I enjoy that Islam does lay out clearly in unquestionable terms who The Creator is, the purpose for this creation, how we fulfill our roles as part of this creation. I also enjoy the repeated call in the Qur'an time and again for humanity to use its Given reason to understand all of this. It seemed to ME that reason had to be suspended in christianity in order to have "faith." I believe this is why it seems to many people that science and christianity (at the very least historically) at odds with one another.

I am waaaay off topic. Sorry. I will no longer pursue my end of this conversation to keep the thread on track [if I haven't dismantled that track : )]. Feel free to reply to my comments for the sake of fairness. If I feel there is more that I need to say or you would like a reply to a comment or question that you pose, then I will probably start another thread.

A Muslim believes that <b>faith is not complete when it is followed blindly or accepted unquestioningly</b>. Man must build his faith on well-grounded convictions beyond any reasonable doubt and above uncertainty. <b>Islam ensures freedom to believe and forbids compulsion in religion </b>

A Muslim believes that the Quran is the word of Allah revealed to prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel. The Quran was revealed from Allah on various occasions to answer questions, solve problems, settle disputes and to be man's best guide to the truth. The Quran was revealed in Arabic and it is still in its original and complete Arabic version today. It is memorized by millions. So God is asking those who deny the truth of this Qur'an to ponder over its verses and to reflect and He even challenges them to produce a single Chapter like it if they are in doubt of its authenticity. In other words, He is saying to you that if this amazing book was not sent by the Creator of heavens and earth, then you tell me from where does it come?

But when you examine that book, you will just say <b>"this is not the word of a man, this is indeed the word of God"</b> only after studying and checking up the book, your faith will increase and you will believe that it is the truth. we are not requested by God to believe just because He said so, He asked us many times in the Qur’an to ponder, reflect over what He says and creates, ask people of knowledge if we are in doubt about what we read, and to verify the amount of information that are unknown to us etc.. Then and only then you may make up your decision.

on the other hand, I personally asked a Catholic priest in the Philippines about Trinity and he said to me: "Son, I believe that there is a problem about this issue, but we just have to believe in it" this priest is over 70 years old and his grand daughter embraced Islam recently Alhamdulelah but he never complained, in fact he encourages her and told her that "I was going to advise you that if ever you thought to change your religion, the only one you should embrace is Islam".

this grand daughter "sister Sally the former Catholic nun" (I think you can read her story on this board, somebody please help to find the link) she told me that my grand father cannot leave the church because it is feeding him, accommodating him and getting from it many benefits. So if he embraced Islam he would loose all of this.

so blind faith is not required in Islam, Alhamdulelah.

The fact that the grand-daughter of a Catholic priest (how is that possible anyway?) converted to Islam doesn't mean that Islam is true. How many thousands of Muslims convert to Christianity every month?

Here are a few: Muslim convert stories

Christians don't just blindly believe. I've shown already that the Bible is superior to the Quran as far as prophecy fullfilled is concerned.

Yes. I say so with 100% certainty. Hundreds of prophecy in the bible has been historically fullfilled.

There was a lengthy thread discussing this which seems to have ominously disappeared.

Since I can't find the thread where this was discussed where nobody could refute the fact that the bibles prophecy is much more extensive and correct than the Quran's....Biblical Prophecy Sorted

I’ve also shown you many other prophecies which does not come true, one unfulfilled prophecy is enough to prove that the Bible is not the word of God.

Well, am not going to argue about that, this is could be true. But it is a fact today Alhamdulelah that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. Alhamdulelah. It was the promise of Allah that Islam is going to master all other religions: Allah says:

It is He Who has sent His Messenger with Guidance and <b>the Religion of Truth</b>, that he may <b>proclaim it over all religion</b>, even though the Pagans may detest (it). Qur'an 61.9

So Islam is going to over come all other way of lives, whether it is Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Communism, EVERY ISM. Islam is going to supersede them all, master them all, over come them all. EVEN THOU THE PAGANS MAY DETEST IT.
