Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Here is a hauntingly beautiful rendition of Ayatul_Kursi recited nice and slow with tajweed (the way the Prophet :saws2: recited).

<b>Ayatul_Kursi_Baset_Tajweed_looped
</b>

When reciting the Quran you must always first say;

<b>Aa_oo_thoo_bil_laa_he_minash_shay_tau_nir_ra_jeem.</b>

Two vowels means stretch the letter In the above;

Aa as in 'Agh' - from the back of the throat . oo as in 'moon'. Laa as in 'air', tau like as in door. 'ra' - trilled r-raw. jeem as it sounds.

/////////////////////////////////

Here is my attempt to write it english. Where you see a letter repeated two five or six times it means that is how long you hold the note for. You'll pick it up as you listen to the audio...in sha allah.

<b>AL-LAAhu laaaaaa^ 'ilaaha^ 'il-laa^ huwal hay-Yul Qayyoooooom.</b>

Allâh! Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists.

<b>laa^ ta` KHuzTH-hu sinahtu(UU) wa-laa^ nawwwwwwm</b>

Neither slumber, nor sleep overtake Him.

<b>lahuu maa^ fis-samaawaati wa- maa^ fil-a`rd.</b>

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on earth.

<b> ma(N) thaal-lathee yashfa3U 3I(N)dahuuuuu(5) il-laa^ bi-ith nihi </b>

Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission?

<b> ya3lamu maa bayna aydeehim wa maa KHalfahum </b>

He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter .

<b> Wa laa yuHeeToona bi- shay i(M)min 3ilmiheeeee(5) 'il-laa bimaa shaaaaaa'a </b>

And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills.

<b>Wasi3A kuR-sey-yu hus-samaawaati wal ard.</b>

His Kursî extends over the heavens and the earth,

<b>wa laa ya- Uoo du-hu Hif-THu humaa</b>

and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them.

<b>wa huwal 3Aley-yul- 3ATHeeeeeem</b>

And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Narrated Abu Huraira

Allah's Apostle deputized me to keep Sadaqa (al-Fitr) of Ramadan. A comer came and started taking handfuls of the foodstuff (of the Sadaqa) (stealthily). I took hold of him and said, "By Allah, I will take you to Allah's Apostle." He said, "I am needy and have many dependents, and I am in great need." I released him, and in the morning Allah's Apostle asked me, "What did your prisoner do yesterday?" I said, "O Allah's Apostle! The person complained of being needy and of having many dependents, so, I pitied him and let him go." Allah's Apostle said, "Indeed, he told you a lie and he will be coming again." I believed that he would show up again as Allah's Apostle had told me that he would return. So, I waited for him watchfully. When he (showed up and) started stealing handfuls of foodstuff, I caught hold of him again and said, "I will definitely take you to Allah's Apostle. He said, "Leave me, for I am very needy and have many dependents. I promise I will not come back again." I pitied him and let him go.

In the morning Allah's Apostle asked me, "What did your prisoner do?" I replied, "O Allah's Apostle! He complained of his great need and of too many dependents, so I took pity on him and set him free." Allah's Apostle said, "Verily, he told you a lie and he will return." I waited for him attentively for the third time, and when he (came and) started stealing handfuls of the foodstuff, I caught hold of him and said, "I will surely take you to Allah's Apostle as it is the third time you promise not to return, yet you break your promise and come." He said, "(Forgive me and) I will teach you some words with which Allah will benefit you." I asked, "What are they?" He replied, "Whenever you go to bed, recite Ayat-al-Kursi-- <b>'Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-l-Haiy-ul Qaiyum...'</b> till you finish the whole verse. (If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you and no satan will come near you till morning. " So, I released him. In the morning, Allah's Apostle asked, "What did your prisoner do yesterday?" I replied, "He claimed that he would teach me some words by which Allah will benefit me, so I let him go."

Allah's Apostle asked, "What are they?" I replied, "He said to me, 'Whenever you go to bed, recite <b>Ayat-al-Kursi</b> from the beginning to the end --<b>'Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-lHaiy-ul-Qaiyum...'</b> He further said to me, '(If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard for you who will stay with you, and no satan will come near you till morning.' (Abu Huraira or another sub-narrator) added that they (the companions) were very keen to do good deeds. The Prophet said, "He really spoke the truth, although he is an absolute liar. Do you know whom you were talking to, these three nights, O Abu Huraira?" Abu Huraira said, "No." He said, "It was Satan."

Assalaamu Alaykum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

Hudhaifah and Abu Dharr reported that when the Prophet, peace be upon him, went to bed, he would say, <b>"O Allah, by Your name I live and die."</b> And when he woke up he said, "Praise be to Allah Who gave us life after death and to Him is the return." He placed his right hand under his cheek and prayed, three times, <b>"O Allah, save me from Your punishment on the day when You will raise Your creature." </b>

He would also say, <b>"O Allah, Lord of the heavens, the earth, and the Mighty Throne, our Lord and the Lord of everything, Who causes the seed to grow and the date-stone to split and sprout, Who sent down Taurah, Injil, and the Qur'an, I seek refuge in You from the evil of all evil-mongers under Your Control. You are the First and there is nothing before You, and You are the Last, and there is nothing after You. You are the Evident and there is nothing beyond You, and You are the Source and there is no power beside You. Relieve us of our debt and poverty." </b> This is reported by Bukhari.

The Prophet, peace be upon him, also prayed, <b>"Praise be to Allah Who has fed us and given us to drink, met all our needs, and given us refuge, while there are many who have neither anyone to meet their needs nor anyone to provide them with a refuge."</b> And every night when he retired to bed he would hold out his hands together imploringly and blow over them after <b>reciting Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas,</b> and then rub his hands over whichever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face, and front of his body. <b>He used to do that three times.</b>

The Prophet, peace be upon him, instructed his Companions that when they go to bed they should supplicate, <b>"In Your name, O Lord, I lay me down to sleep. And by Your leave I raise myself up. So if You take away my soul during sleep, forgive it, and if You keep it alive after sleep protect it just as You protect Your pious servants."</b>

The Prophet, peace be upon him, once advised his daughter, Fatimah, <b>"Say subhan-Allah thirty three times, al-hamdu-lillah, thirty three times, and Allahu akbar, thirty three times and La ilaha ilallah once to make one hundred."</b> He also commended the recitation of <b>ayatal-Kursi, the verse of the Throne, Qur'an 2.255</b> along with the above supplications, and said that he who does so will be under the protection of Allah, Who will assign a protector to protect him.

The Prophet, peace be upon him, said to Bara, "When you go to bed make wudu as you do for the regular prayer, and then lie down on your right side and say, <b>' O Allah, I surrender my soul to You, and I tum my face toward You, and I trust my affairs to Your care. I turn to You in fear and hope. There is no refuge nor any protection against You except in You. I believe in Your book which You have revealed to Your Prophet whom You sent'."</b> Then he added, "If you die, you will die in your true nature, and these words will be your last words."
