Eclipse
#1

So how many on here saw the eclipse?

I know it passed over Turkey, but I don't know how much was seen elsewhere. I would guess it must have been partially visible in Egypt.

Cool photos B)

The 1999 eclipse was pretty good here, we where a bit too far north for a full eclipse, but it was still pretty good. It sure confused the birds :)

Bismillah

arclight, really thank u for this thread.

i wanted to start one on that day, last Wed. It was quite visible in Sallum. Egypt's border to Libya.

As far as I m concerned, I was at work, but the best thing, is that Alhamdulelah, we held the prayer in congregation. It was really touching, that at this particular moment, people actually flew from many countries and established camps there, we were standing there remembering Allah. Allah The One Who Created day and night for us. Allah Who if Wanted to make the night eternal, no one would have been able to remove the darkness. It was very touching.

Matter of fact, there is a verse in the Quran that explains this saying:

" Say (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم): "Tell me! If Allâh made the night continuous for you till the Day of Resurrection, which ilâh (god) besides Allâh could bring you light? Will you not then hear?" (Quran 28:71)

We kept pondering upon this very direct and clear verse. Truly, if Allah Made the night eternal, this is the exact word in Arabic, who else can bring back the light. Just imagine, the bounties Allah Made for us and we take it for granted. Just having the day and night alternate is a major blessing and bounty praise be to Allah.
